Traquility at Villa Fonte Coberta

Frank is absolutely lovely! Such a nice guy and was very friendly. He was so understanding when I mistakenly thought to checkout at 11 (it was supposed to be 10). And has been very communicative and kind with me. The house is beautiful with a stunning yard and pool. And so close to the beach! A 6 minute drive to Meia Praia! They provided pool floaties and beach towels. LOVE that they have a washer to use, and pots and pans to cook. Overall, amazing value.

Not exactly “tranquil”. And definitely isn’t the “entire place is yours”. 2 people live in the home upstairs with 7 dogs, 1 cat and like 15 chickens. My dog gets along well with others, but when I read “dog friendly”, I was definitely not expecting 4 dogs to run at him barking. LOTS of barking every time I stepped outside. I just wish I had been warned that this wasn’t a private place. It’s a place shared with 7 dogs, a cat and a bunch of chickens (and for my hunting dog, this meant I had to manage him every time he wanted to go outside as to protect the chickens! Not peaceful) I’m surprised the reviews didn’t say anything about their dogs. Yes they’re sweet, but the little ones are very loud and at one point all 4 chased my dog into the rental space! The host apologized but said when my dog ran, his chased. I picked this home for tranquility and privacy. I was so interested in this place because of the pool but didn’t feel entirely comfortable using it because I was expecting to be alone. The shower is a little icky.. the water doesn’t drain. There are many many ants in the kitchen (but that’s Portugal in the late summer - not much they could have done). The sockets are falling out of the walls too. But everything else was wonderful.

De locatie van dit verblijf is ideaal! Aan de rand van Lagos (we liepen met 2 jonge kinderen gemakkelijk naar old town) maar toch in een oase van rust. Het huis zelf is prachtig. Wij hadden de benedenverdieping van dit landhuis / villa, de eigenaar woont boven. Het heeft een prachtige tuin, je loop gemakkelijk even naar de supermarkt en de uitvalsbasis in de gehele Algarve is ideaal (je rijdt overal in een half uur naartoe, muv Faro). De eigenaar is erg aardig en betrokken. Je kunt met alles bij hem terecht en hij helpt waar mogelijk. Ook heeft hij erg mooie adviezen over waar naartoe te gaan. Wij zouden een volgende keer zeker weer hier naartoe gaan.

Het huis is gehorig. Wanneer de host boven bezoek had was dit goed te horen. De eigenaar heeft geprobeerd om het zwembad netjes op orde te maken, maar de eenden die in de tuin leven maken hier ook gebruik van. Het huis zelf had enkele kleine gebreken (zo konden er wat plasjes water ontstaan naast de gootsteen of bij de koelkast, of was er een stopcontact kapot). Echter was de eigenaar zo vriendelijk om deze dingen meteen te verhelpen.
