About this villa rental
Your nearest neighbours are about 1km away. Although very secluded it is within 35 minutes transfer of Faro Airport, about 15 kilometres to the district of Albufeira, 10 minutes drive from shops and restaurants and 10 - 15 minutes from some of the most beautiful villages in the Algarve. Alte is probably one of the most picturesque villages in central Algarve countryside. There is no sense of time while you stroll around the backstreets of the village. The views are breath taking. São Marcos de Serra is typical white washed village. Silves is the old capital of the Algarve and is a real favourite. Its sits at the foot of the Monchique mountains.
The area is great for walking, and sightseeing; on the edge of the Serra Do Caldeirão and next to Serra Do Monchique you get a real feeling of being part of Portugal. Dotted around are some great value Portuguese restaurants with authentic food. Just a 25 minute drive away is Gale beach, one of the longest and quietest beaches in the Algarve. The Algarve has a great rugged coast with many grottos. There are numerous golf courses if you fancy a hole or two.
There are several water parks within a 30 minute drive.
Interior Details:
The property is spacious and furnished in a charming way. As you enter the property there is an "inner" hallway which has a seating area. To the right is a living area which has seating for 6 and a wood burning stove. Within the spacious living area is a dining area with a table to seat up to six people. There is a well equipped kitchen. There is a utility room with a washing machine and sink. In the centre of the house there is a small open courtyard with windows and doors to the lounge and hallway, giving a light airy feeling. To the left of the inner hallway are the bedrooms, an airy double bedroom has an en suite shower room with a toilet and basin. The second bedroom has twin beds and en suite bath/shower room. The third bedroom is a double with an ensuite shower room with a toilet and basin.
Exterior Details:
The property has numerous seating areas outside, both suntraps and shady areas. There is a large outside table with chairs, sun beds and a BBQ. There is ample parking. There is a private swimming pool. The property has its own eco-friendly power supply and water supply. There is a security camera attached to the wall above the porch which covers the driveway which can be deactivated if required .

Had a wonderful 11 days at the property early July 25, Villa was exceptionally large with bedroom sizes to match, the main bedroom has an amazing view to greet you each morning. plenty of storage space. the kitchen is fully fitted with every utensil available. we had exceptionally hot weather which took some getting used to at night with no AC. The approach road is effectively a dirt trail with gravel in places which is to be expected for such a isolated location Communication with Ian and Tina were spot on and we received a courtesy call from the local contact on the first day reassuring us that help was close by should it be needed(which it wasn't). Wifi signal was strong. all in all location, property and fittings 10/10. Our only point to mention was the unfortunate issue with the pool which is currently a temporary structure (of good size) due to problems with the main pool shown in the current listing which took the edge of the pool enjoyment but overall didn't retract from our enjoyment of visiting. Beautiful home with all amenities including pool and plenty of space both inside and outside. Totally secluded yet only 20 minutes from supermarkets and restaurants.
Owners and caretakers are very nice and responsive.
Off-grid with own water supply and solar/generator and everything works well.

We loved the villa and had a wonderful stay. The communication was excellent with the hosts and the property managers. Everything we needed to know was in the book inside the property as we came in. The villa was extremely clean when we arrived, and we were left a lovely basket of goodies which is a very nice touch.
The only room for improvement I would say there is , is that the property got very hot at night with us staying in August. There are ceiling fans in the lounge and the master bedroom but the ceilings are so high it doesnt really get the rooms to a comfortable sleeping temperature.Open the doors and windows and you have to deal with wasps and other bugs inside. So we decided to put up with the heat instead. I think additional fans being available would be a simple fix and then the villa really would be faultless.
We would love to stay here again in the future.It is so peaceful inside and outside and you are not too far away from anywhere you want to go.
