I stayed here as a solo traveller for 5 nights in the middle of March. The communication with Daphne and from Miriam (her local on-site person) was excellent both before and during the holiday. The accommodation is very well equipped, like home from home with everything you need. The amount of kitchen equipment was amazing! The only thing missing was an iron and ironing board which I did leave a note about so hopefully that will be reviewed. There was a washing machine and a dryer and great drying space on the terrace. The rooms were very spacious. The weather was cold during my stay for 4 out of the 5 days, so I was glad of the many heaters provided. I did not need any in the bedroom as the duvets were very cosy. At night time, in the cave bedroom, it is so peaceful and dark so you can get a good nights sleep! There is no Wifi, but you can use the library (Monday to Friday when it is open usually twice a day and there is a very friendly librarian). There is also 2 grocery shops again, open twice a day every day which are very handy. The Gama store seemed to have everything you need and fresh bread every day. I used this as a base for walking and I had my own Rother Guide (they also provide one but not to be taken away) . I did 3 long walks (to Tamadaba picnic area, to Acusa Seca and to Cruz de Tejeda. I would thoroughly recommend the Acusa Seca one as there are beautiful views and at the end of the walk you can see many interesting cave houses. I actually got sunburnt on this walk as it was very hot in the valley. On the other two walks, which were high up in the mountains, it was a lot colder but well worth it for the views. I got caught in a hailstorm on the Cruz de Tejeda walk so was very glad to have some warming food at the Parador! So the weather can be very different up in the highest village in Gran Canary. Lots of interesting things to do and see around the village itself. A tip is to avoid going to the Museum when it opens about 11am as hoards of tourist buses arrive then!. I did not have any car so relied on pubic transport to get myself to and from Artenara. However there was enough to keep me occupied in the area. If you have a car, you will have even more scope for walking and exploring. There is a lovely terrace as well with great views. I would thoroughly recommend and really enjoyed my stay there

At our arrival we've been welcomed very friendly by Miriam. She showed us everything and also offered to be available in case of any questions or problems. Everything was very clean and the apartment offers everything you need. We didn't cook much, but we didn't miss anything in the kitchen. There is a washing machine and dryer as well. Additionally there was a hiking guide in englisch and french available and a folder with a lot of information in different languages. It offers two separate sleeping rooms, one on the first floor (smaller one) and the other on the ground floor. To reach the one in the first floor, you have to walk over the terrace. During our stay it was not always really warm and we also had some rain, so the one on the ground floor was more practical and also warmer. We didn't use the terrace, but I think in summer it is really nice to use it. As described, the apartment is partially in a cave, so I guess in summer it's cool, but also in winter / spring it is not too cold. Still we needed the provided electrical heaters quite often, otherwise it would have been too cold (But there are enough heaters available!). One suggestion for improvement: We only had 3 towels for two persons, maybe it was by mistake, but two each would have been nice. We stayed in the apartment for 4 nights and really enjoyed it. We would definitely choose it again.
