Escape to the coast, just a couple hours drive from San Francisco, North on Highway 1. Cozy remodeled cottage, nestled among the coastal redwoods on Highway 1 in Anchor Bay just North of Sea Ranch.

Enjoy the large redwood deck with partial ocean views (you can even hear the sea lions at Fish Rock).

We had a wonderful visit. The property is spacious, in a quiet neighborhood, and very tastefully designed and furnished. The proximity to the beautiful beach is very convenient. There are restaurants, a fully-stocked grocery store, laundry, etc. close by. A personal bonus was being just a few miles north of the amazing Sea Ranch.

Received check-in information late at the end of a long and stormy drive. Very cold first night till wood stove heated up the floor and main room. Place is very cute. Close to some great hikes. Enjoyed our stay very much.

We enjoyed the tastefully decorated, relaxing and spacious house. It was well stocked with everything we needed. We forgot to pack games and wish there were some in the house. We knew about the spotty internet and cell service, but that might be more of an issue for some. We enjoyed being unplugged!

We recently spent a week at this wonderful cottage. We had a very relaxing and peaceful time. The cottage actually has 2 full bedroom’s although the second bedroom wasn’t mentioned . The cottage is located within walking distance to a couple of restaurants as well as a general food market the pretty much has everything you could need and doesn’t break the bank. It was amazing how quiet it was given it’s maybe 3 blocks from Hwy 1. It’s modern, well maintained , and a perfect getaway for a couple or small family. Awesome deck and you can sit out on the deck and listen to the seals barking not far away. Nice kitchen , but bring your own spices if you plan on cooking much. Loved it and will definitely return

I would have given 5 stars except for 2 things. 1. It was very cold the first day and night. The small heater in the living room was not adequate to heat the whole house. There was very little firewood. We could not make the heater in the bedroom work. 2. The television experience was a disaster. We were told that the satellite went out in bad weather. My husband tried to watch a basketball game. It went out every 2-3 minutes in clear weather. Otherwise the place is nice and cozy

The view off the deck at sunset and the water is stellar in the evening and the neighborhood is extremely quiet. It’s such a great get away retreat. If you travel south on Highway 1 less than 5 minutes there is easy beach access.

We had a wonderful stay at Ryan and Darnie’s cottage! Beautifully decorated and super comfy with everything we needed. Sitting under the huge trees in the morning and evening while hearing the ocean was amazing! Loved all the hiking trails around the beach below. Such a relaxing and enjoyable stay-thank you!

This is a pleasant cottage. However, there is no central heat. A couple of portable heaters do not warm the place in winter. There is a fireplace, but no firewood in stock. This might be a good place for staying in warm weather, but during winter - this is rather uncomfortable.

Such a great experience

This place was so perfect for our anniversary getaway. It was such a cozy and beautiful house, in such an incredible location - surrounded by redwoods and hearing sea lions thruout the night. The heaters kept us warm and the bed was soo comfy. The store was right around the corner and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed watching some of the DVDs such as The Matrix and The Matrix Reloaded (a fun throwback). We were able to catch a dreamy sunset for our second night while having dinner on the porch after grilling some lamb. Thank you Ryan and Darnie for prompt communication! We’ll definitely recommend this spot and hope to come back!

We enjoyed our stay at this cottage very much. The communication with the owner was excellent and we appreciated that he checked with us about arrival and departure. The cottage is clean and comfortable. My only suggestion is towel bars in the bathroom. The surrounding neighbors are very pleasant and enjoyed talking with them. We would like to repeat our experience there.

The place had a funny smell, but it went away quickly once the doors were opened to allow a breeze to blow thru. After being there for a couple hours I was ready to leave. There is no washer/dryer, therefore bring lots of clothes or don't stay long. The Netflix was in German, took awhile to figure out how to switch to English. The internet would drop out at night randomly, making TV had to watch. No regular cable so streaming video is the only TV option. No cell phone service, but has WiFi, when its working. No outside garbage cans. I had to buy a broom to clean the deck of cedar leaves just to remove the "not lived in" look. plus it made walking on the deck so much nicer. A one or two night stay might be OK, but any longer then that, no way!

The location was serene and quiet, but with incredibly friendly neighbors. Everyone I met on trails, in the neighborhood or at a store said “hello”. The house was spacious with its open floor plan. Everything was comfortable and thoughtful. The kitchen is petite but I managed to do all my cooking with ease. I would love to stay here again.

This was an awesome cottage! The property is set back up a hill from the 1, it’s a quick walk to the general store, coffee shop, and Thai restaurant. There is a trail head just across the 1 that walks you down to anchor bay camp ground, you have to pay $3 per person to use but it makes the beach super accessible. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower had great pressure. The massive back porch is great for morning coffee and relaxing. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing coastal weekend.

My wife and I came out here for our Anniversary and we have to say our stay just flew by. You get a good at home feel as soon as you step in with good interior design and a nice at sea theme. Cleanliness was a plus. However, the coziness of this cottage was accomplished, in our opinion, with the sound of the waves clashing in the distance, a wine glass at our hand, and the warmth of the fire wrapping us like a blanket. It rained one out of the three days we stayed but it was a good stay indoors with plenty of things to do with plenty of informative books at hand. TV included Netflix and Amazon prime which we were thankful for. The rain made the internet go out for about five hours. Since phone service communication was not possible with out phone carrier we were in bit of a dead zone. However, it worked out perfectly for us. Being disconnected from the world is just what we needed. Overall our stay was a well enjoyed. We would definitely come back.

This was a great cozy cottage for my daughter and I on a girls weekend away. The owners we attentive and responsive, and I loved that they left coffee for our morning! The bed was SO comfortable, and I am very picky about beds. We loved using the wood stove for heat, and the shower was great! The whole place felt fresh and clean. We will be staying here next time we want to get a vacation away in the area!
