About this house rental

The house is in Monument Beach, which is in the town of Bourne. Bourne is a quiet, accessible Cape Cod town that is 'off the beaten path' relative to more well-known towns. It is a classic wooden shingled house with a private beach. We have owned this house for 40 years, we are not property managers.
This house is NEVER rented on CraigsList but scams have been attempted - do not fall for it! Message us on VRBO if you have a question.

The house is relatively large, with a deep porch wrapping around half its perimeter, facing the beach. All of the bedrooms have picture windows, and three of the bedrooms have stellar water views while the fourth looks out on the park.

The house is situated on Phinney's Harbor, the first harbor south of the Canal on Buzzards Bay on the Cape side of the Bridge. It is a gorgeous harbor with warm water and terrific conditions for children, sailing, kayaking, and fishing. The house is West facing, and blessed with perfectly stellar sunsets.
Adjacent to the property is a park with a jungle gym, a basketball court, tennis courts, and a field adequately large for a pick-up baseball game. One appealing feature of the house is its accessible location. Due to its proximity (4 miles) to the Bourne Bridge, it is easy to get to. One can frequently make the trip to the house from Boston in less than an hour and a half, even on Friday afternoons. This means that if not everyone in the family is on vacation during the rental, everyone can at least be together in the evenings.
Although this is a lovely spot, our home is not available for weddings or parties of any kind.

This house has wonderful views of the harbor and its associated bird life. The house itself is spacious, comfortable and nicely furnished. It was fun to walk in the neighborhood and on the sandy beach. Becky's Bakery and Whistle Stop Ice cream were any easy walk away. And the Lobster Trap which is a short drive away has great fresh fish and lobster. We also had a great time kayaking on the Great Marsh in Sandwich, renting kayaks from Rideaway Adventures. And we also really enjoyed the Cape Cod Canal Visitor's Center and the Aptucxet Museum. We only had 3 days, but we thoroughly enjoy them. One small caveat - the knives could be sharper.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The house is spacious, spotless, and right on the water—perfect for gathering together or finding a quiet corner to yourself. Communication with Joan was fantastic; she’s truly lovely. We caught a breathtaking sunset on our last night, and even a rainy day was wonderful—doing a puzzle in the sunroom and sitting on the porch listening to the rain felt so peaceful. The location is ideal, with an ice cream shop, bakery, Heritage Gardens, and Dunbar Tea House all nearby. Great for families, with tennis courts and a playground next door, but also perfect for a group of adults like us. Comfortable couches, plenty of dining space, and everything you could possibly need—it was a perfect getaway.
