Elizabeth House is a lakefront house with ancient origins but completely renovated in 2015 by keeping the period style and enhancing the artistic and architectural features. The high quality of the furnishing puts into sharper focus on the luxury of the property, in addition to the carefully restored decorations of the exterior walls of the house.

Elizabeth House is positioned in the center of the most popular area of Varenna, and is the protagonist of thousands of photographs taken by tourists fascinated by the pretty and colorful Varenna. This property is close to bars, restaurants, ice cream shops, local shops etc. Exactly in the position where would like to be in Varenna!

The house is on two floors and enjoys a panoramic lakefront balcony. The living area on the first floor consists of entrance, living room with sofa bed, armchairs and a fireplace overlooking the lake, large kitchen with dining area and additional sofa, bathroom with shower. On the second floor there is the sleeping area: 3 large double bedrooms and a bathroom with shower, all enhanced by the exposed beams. The colours shared by all the rooms are brown and cream, in all their shades.

The furnishings are nice, but the stairs are very difficult in and out, and impossible to the third floor. There should be more warning on the booking. Also as a group of 4 we ran out of toilet paper fairly quickly. Can’t imagine a full booking! My bed linens were stained, I should have taken a photo but didn’t want to be difficult. For this price you should provide beautiful elegant bedding. Not scratchy thin cheap.

Varenna itself is a magically spectacular place to visit and the Elizabeth House is right in the heart of this lovely town. The view of the lake and mountains from the balcony was glorious and the view of the town and passersby was fun. Three bedrooms and 2 baths were clean, up to date and comfortable. The kitchen had everything our family of 5 needed for a great 4 day stay. We’ll definitely be back.

This place was amazing! I couldn't have imagined anything better than this place. The house was amazing, the location was amazing and the village was amazing. Nice spacious and beautiful house and we really enjoyed the balcony overlooking the lake! It was a lovely, perfect little village. It was so easy to get around and walk to the ferry. The ferry was so convenient and ran frequently to many different villages nearby on the lake. Lots of great restaurants in this village. The house was spacious, clean and had everything that one would need. Communication with Varenna Holidays was wonderful! They made everything easy and check in was great and they helped me book a tour. If I get back to Lake Como again someday, I would definitely stay here again and I definitely recommend this house!

Very cute and great location. We stayed in September and it was hot. The AC (air circulation) was not efficient. Even though the location is great the noise level from people walking bye and noise from the restaurants was a bit intrusive.

First, the location of this home is perfect! The lakefront view and balcony made it worth every penny. Additionally, the accommodations inside the home were great for the 7 people in our group. We had plenty of space and felt comfortable throughout the stay. Finally, the staff was very communicative leading up to our stay which was greatly appreciated. Thank you for an amazing, memorable experience in the best vacation home we’ve ever stayed in! Everything was excellent, but we had one small callout. The sinks in both bathrooms were clogged and did not drain easily, causing the water to fill up the sink and dirty it.

Elizabeth House is everything the pictures say about it! 1 - Incredible location in the heart of Varenna lakefront, 2 - Clean, spacious and lovely rooms, bathrooms and kitchen, 3 - check-in was so helpful and when we had a timing issue, they allowed us to store luggage at the office and took our luggage to the apartment for us. 5 stars, would absolutely stay again. Fits 6 people nicely, we were 4, it was very very spacious.

First off Varenna is one of the best villages on the lake. The people are so nice and there are many many great restaurants. The apartment itself couldn’t be in a better location. The balcony was my favorite spot and a great place to watch the sunset over the mountains. The apartment is very well decorated and makes you feel right at home. Loved it all!!

Varenna was our first stop on our Italy adventure. The Elizabeth House is situated right on Lake Como. It is spacious and clean. Views are amazing! Plenty of room for two couples or small family. The amenities were great, fully stocked kitchen to prepare your own Italian dish and sip wine on the narrow balcony (all part of its charm ). Our only problem was. the hot water in the upstairs shower. We had two couples sharing one small shower downstairs. We notified the management and unfortunately it was not resolved during our stay. We stayed 4 nights. First we were told tomorrow, then the part was ordered and checking out said looking into. Overall we throughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again !! Thank you Elizabeth House.

The location of the house was amazing. The home was very comfortable and clean. When I rented this house it listed that it came with air-conditioning. When I got to the house I was told that it no longer had air conditioning. Luckily it was not very hot during our stay. Instructions for some of the appliances were missing. However, we were able to get these from Francesca.

Overall, the location of this property is incredible. Overlooking the lake with unobstructed views, 5 minute walk to the ferry, 7 minute walk to anywhere in Varenna and a variety of restaurants within a few hundred feet of the apartment. However, there are some things that anyone considering renting here should know. 1. There is no air-conditioning, and in the summer it is HOT, especially on the upper, bedroom level of the apartment. The sun beats down from the west all afternoon and into the evening, and it takes a long time for the floor to begin to cool down even with windows wide open. Some of the advertisements (including the booklet inside the unit) mention "AC," but this unit does not offer that. There are floor level fans in the bedrooms that help, but it is still important to note. 2. Everything in Varenna is up and down; up stairs and ramps to the main piazza and street, down to the lake level and Elizabeth House. We enjoyed the constant workout, but important for renters to know. 3. There are also ants that were a consistent problem on the bottom, kitchen level, floor of the rental. Though really a nuisance more than anything, it means that you have to store all food in the refrigerator to keep it safe from infestation. The property managers provided ant spray, but that only a short lived solution as the ants quickly found alternative entry points. 4. For three south facing windows on the upper floor, pigeons had taken over area outside those window, so we were unable to open the windows in the bedrooms, which would have been helpful given the heat. 5. I was also disappointed with my communication with Varenna Holidays as I tried several times to engage in rational dialog about the AC and ant problem before my visit and was unable to get a fair and reasonable response from them. Even during my stay I asked if they would be willing to provide any discount due to the ants in particular, and there was never even a response to my request. So, in conclusion, given the right weather and pest control, this could be an ultimate vacation rental on Lake Como, but renters should be aware of those important factors. Regarding the responses from Varenna Holidays, I was, and am still disappointed. I think their attitude is that you are renting from us now, and most likely will not be back again, so why treat you like a respected client vs. a one time transaction. Italy, Lake Como and Varenna are amazing, I hope you find the right accommodation!

The unit is located in the harbor overlooking the water. It was magical sitting on the veranda having a glass of wine just taking it all in. The unit it self has been d, has a great kitchen and was clean and again the location can't be beat. Please ensure things like the remote control to the AC has working batteries. It wasn't too hot so the fans were fine.

Elizabeth House is both beautiful and peaceful and an amazing location. More toilet paper, some paper towels and tissues. It would be nice if you provided coffee supplies and a few bottles of water. The coffee maker was a K cup type machine and there was no place close enough to buy them.

Responsive, friendly service and an absolutely incredible location in the heart of Varenna. As mentioned, there is a serious bug problem. Not just ants, but something bit my family and I all over our bodies leaving red, itching marks. We are still affected by this several days later. This is really unacceptable and hope to hear your response about it.

I recently stayed here with a group of 6 adults for 2 nights. Before the trip, Alessia at the property management company had been very responsive to questions. She was also very accommodating of our need for an early check-in and late check-out. The house itself is conveniently located in the center of town. It is situated right on the lake and the view is amazing! The living rooms and bedrooms were all spacious; very comfortable for our group. The house is near the main square, steps to gelato, restaurants, and a grocery store where we picked up some small things for breakfast. A couple of minor downsides. We were kept up late one night by a live band at a nearby bar/restaurant. Not much you can do about that, though. Several of the rooms were a bit dark, which could easily be addressed with some new lightbulbs. I recommend staying here if you visit Varenna!

This home was simply beautiful! We loved everything about staying here, though we did have trouble getting the AC to work which left us with some hot and sweaty nights. Other than that we simply had no complaints and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. What a beautiful location right on the waters of Lake Como. The house also came with a dual washer/dryer combo which we were very glad for. There was plenty of shopping and dining just steps away. The home was clean and the pictures do not do it justice. The town of Varenna is nowhere near as busy as Bellagio and has two small markets, and plenty of restaurants. We ate at Quattro Pass one of the nights and I have never had such amazing lasagna in my life. There was a small PosteItaliane office nearby too which I used to mail a large box of gifts home (the box was delivered today yay!) Also the ferry service is a short walk away along the water for travel to the other Islands. Our group of 8 fit nicely with plenty of room though I wouldn’t recommend more than that. There are a number of steps to navigate to get here though my 72 yr old mom did just fine on them.

THE place to stay in Varenna. Wonderful views, direct Lakefront. Easy to get to from the Varenna-Esino train station (a 20 minute walk) via a picturesque passeggiata along the lake. The Ferry stop is a mere 10 minute walk from the house, so it's easy to explore other towns on the lake. Good lakefront restaurants and Gelato stands are right outside. The house is very clean, fully equipped, and the furniture is comfortable. The balcony and views are wonderful.

Once you get past the never ending stairs Varenna is just magical. The property directly faces Lake Como. You can watch the sunrise against the mountains across the lake. Train station and ferry service are very close. Varenna Holidays arranged for van pick up upon arrival and departure. Property was very clean and just as advertised. Special place.
