About this cottage rental
The 2 gites of la Lucaziere are located one and a half hours south of the ferry port of Ouistreham and 35 minutes from Le Mans. They are set in grounds which form part of a 400 acre organic estate with its chateau, meadows and extensive woodland. The owners of the gite live in the chateau, far enough away to allow you privacy but on hand if required.
The local village of Mont saint Jean is less than 1 km away and has a bar and a small shop as well as a boulangerie.
The local area offers many attractions. The lake and beach of Sille le Guillaume is just 5 km from la Lucaziere, there you can enjoy sailing, ,pedalos, pleasure bikes or simply relax at one of the bars with a glass of wine! Nearby, the picturesque village of St Leonard du Bois offers kayakng and superb hiking and cycling routes as well as some lovely restaurants. There are many other beautiful villages in the area to be explored.
But if it is peace and tranquility that you require why not just lase around the heated pool at la Lucaziere. Unlimited fibre optic internet is connected to the Gite.

We were two families staying at the gite, and thoroughly enjoyed the pool and other facilities including the games box with rackets for table-tennis, badminton etc.
This is a very quiet area, and at night we could watch the stars, and listen to the owls in the trees. Very peaceful. The gite met all our needs (although stairs to the 2nd floor bedrooms are rather steep so just be mindful of this if you have younger children or people with mobility issues).
Would highly recommend this lovely gite if you want somewhere to just relax and get away from it all.
The Sille plage (beach) nearby was great, and we spent a few days there in the sun.

Anita was an absolute pleasure to meet and was attentive with any requirements, bice atnosphere and a nice rural setting, pool is really nice and the Château in the grounds is beautiful. A really great holiday home, do consider it is quite remote from major towns/cities so a car and some travelling is essential to get around.

Such an away from it all location,just the birds singing. Deer came out of the woods and the foxgloves were delightful.
Our owners brought us fresh bakery each morning and the welcome pack was the best. We were left sparkling wine, milk, butter,juice, condiments plus tea and coffee.
We had a great start with a day by the pool which was very much enjoyed but the middle of our nine days we had the hail and cold wet weather but it all changed back again.
The lake called Coco beach has sailing and pedaloes plus electric bikes for hire. Nearby the town Sille Le Guillaume has a good Super U and market day on Wednesday. We visited St Suzanne twice and had two great lunches for around 13 Euros . One in the town centre and the other by the main car park, a Logis.
Our hosts Richard and Anita work hard but have time to talk and help you.
There is no heating and stone floors but the place is rented out just for the summer. Wifi worked well but at present from the driveway which in the rain a no go area. Richard is working on this with new ideas for connection.
There is plenty of area around the two Gites for children to play.
We were just two people in the Gite and can only speak for having lots of space.
Despite a broken wrist at present Anita manages the Chateau for B and B and takes care of all her guests. We were so pleased to be invited to see the progress they have made with the Chateau and had time to chat over drinks.
