it was clean and very close to Monemvasia. the balcony was wonderful, the limited view of the water and Monemvasia were great.
our stay here was not a pleasant one. it started with the host refusing to provide an address to the place despite me telling him that booking.com was only taking us to the town and not directly to the home. he basically told us to get there and he would send someone to get us ( don’t understand the secret). so we had to park on the side of the road after a long drive and were ultimately found by a woman who asked us to follow her vehicle. She didn’t didn’t introduce herself, gave us a very quick walkthrough the apartment and then left. there was no house manual, no recommendations for what to do, no “do you have any questions”, she gave the keys them left. There were many packages of water bottles sitting in the lobby by the front entrance which we assumed were for our consumption, except the next day we found a hand written sign saying the water was not for us to use…( turns out they belonged to the tenant upstairs). At no point did the host tell us not to use the water or that the water in the apartment was not potable and we needed to buy water to cook, drink, etc! this is a big deal if you’re hosting guest, most who are foreign and on vacation. The “fully stocked” kitchen had no cutting knife (we eventually got one from the very nice host’s mother who lives downstairs.) they have non stick pans but only a metal spatula that would for sure ruin the said pan… the piece the resistance is that even though we parked right next to our bedroom’s open porch/balcony with a few steps, which would be the easiest to get our luggage inside the apartment, we were told that we COULD not bring the luggage through there and had to go through the front entrance with a flight of stairs instead. they had a sign by the kitchen with a bunch of rules, including asking us not to re arrange furniture, etc.
