Beautiful view but the building is run down and next to a township.

The ocean view was beautiful and host was really lovely, communicated well and was helpful.

The location is right next to a township - not ideal especially when traveling with two small children. The building is very run down with broken tiles as you walk up the stairs, surrounding buildings in the complex are quite run down and need maintenance. Inside the unit, the bowls were chipped but Madeleine said they will be replaced annually as guests can be quite hardy with them. We needed a cleaning service, and unfortunately couldn’t arrange one on the day we’d asked for so my recommendation would be to let guest know how far in advance they need to confirm the cleaning service.

You cannot go wrong with Nothing But View! We had an amazing stay and will definitely be going back when in Hermanus! The place is absolutely stunning and a lot of thought has been put into the small details and touches of everything you may need within a self-catering unit and to get the most out of your stay! What a pleasure. 😁 If you follow the travel instructions given, the small part of the informal settlement that you pass before the entrance of the beach club is a small price to pay for what it leads to! The host Madeleine is great and very responsive when needed, which definitely added to the great experience! Don't think about it, just do it!

Very enjoyable family stay

The penthouse is comfortably furnished and the kitchen well equipped. As we were travelling with teenagers we appreciated the boardgames and books. The view is amazing! It is also conveniently close to the beach as well as the clubhouse. It was very nice to have a gass hob as well as an inverter system during the very frequent and long power failures.

It is a penthouse on the 3rd floor. As we are not so young anymore we struggled a bit to get luggage to the top. The squatters next to the access road tend to b a bit problematic due to pedestrians, dogs and chickens(!)

Comfortable family long-weekend at NothingButView

Location is exceptional. Large patio with very ample seating. Panoramic view of the sea with special seating supplied for prolonged sea viewing. Fire pit for jolly evenings with the whole family sitting around the fire. Comfortable beds. Ample seating in the sitting/dining room. Compact but well-supplied kitchen. Books, board games are supplied. My wife immediately took control of the coffey-nook and there she sat doing her sudoku and looking out at the sea. We used the gravel access road to HBC to bypass the informal settlement but in all fairness it is not a big deal if you do drive past the settlement. Getting the keys is a little like a treasure hunt ending with opening the lockbox with the code supplied. At first we worried about how to manage the key when two groups each want to go their own way, but in the end we simply put the key back in the lockbox and the first to arrive back would just use the code and get the key again. Simple when you think about it. Sort of treasure-hunty for our youngsters. Access to the sea is just around the corner from the accommodation block and the same for getting to the clubhouse. We parked our second car in front of the clubhouse. Security is good with a guard on foot patrol regularly passing by. The new harbour is just a short car trip away. I counted three restaurants but we did not make use of any of them on this trip. The cement walkways built along the seafront are very rough, so bring footwear with good soles.

There are two flights of stairs to get to the accommodation. To be fair this is mentioned on the accommodation information. Also the stairs have handrails on either side of the steps, so not difficult to navigate.

Apartment located in access contolled Beach Club, perfect to visit downtown Hermanus. Host friendly and helpful - with very good foresight even to tackle all kind of inconveniances - such as load shedding - South Africa might offer

the view was excellent. Enough space. We liked the heaters in the room and the little heater. Not everywhere you get this luxury in this cold weather. The owner was very helpful to advice us on some place to go to eat dinner in the evening. And Hermanus is very close for breakfast.

Food for the soul

The balcony has a boma, braai facilities, and enough outdoor furniture. The view was spectacular...we saw a pod of whales. The kitchen was well equipped. The beds were super comfortable.

Maybe the owners can consider a small gasstove for when there is loadshedding?

The name of the accommodation speaks for itself. We were spoilt with the most amazing views during our stay. The apartment was clean, had all the necessities and was cozy. Our host Madeleine was excellent in her communication and also trying attend to our every need. We will be back soon xx
