Great location very poor staff

The unreachable stuff when half the park loses power was without power or heating for 9.5hours over night and out of hours was unreachable The signal and wifi was very poor almost unusable

Thoroughly enjoyable

Upon arrival two staff members were at the reception desk. The gentleman was welcoming, friendly and advised us where to park which may be best due to the rainy conditions.

Loads of room and everything I needed! Staff are ace and the site was well run, well maintained and easy to navigate.

Close to the sea, peaceful and quiet, very friendly staff. Nice pool with heated water.

It's a pity there is no showroom. The internet in the caravans is very weak — you have to go outside or pay extra for internet access.

No fuss had everything ready was a little early but was still able to go to our van. Map to the accommodation was easy to read

Quiet location, two minutes on foot to the sea, super comfy mattress.

The woman couldn't access the WiFi but for me it was perfect, didn't turn my fone on all week!

We had a lovely break in a beautiful setting

Spacious lounge, lots of hot water, very comfortable beds

Lounge seat kept fallen through as wood under the cushion did not fit properly. Needs more kitchen utensils colander, wooden spoons and spatula, peeler. The kettle stopped after one boiling even when fresh water put in. The showers in the swimming pool do not work properly

Fantastic stay a Mersea, near Colcester - it's got it all

Access to caravan out of hours was great, code to safebox easy to use. The caravan was spotless, with a well equipped kitchen. I had a 8 berth to myself and it was a fantastic home from home. The double room was a great size with proper double bed and had an ensuite toilet and basin. Central heating available and easy to use so I could pop it on for an hour in morning and evening as October temperatures were cooler. Site was spotless and a few minutes walk from shoreline. Great location, I visited Colcester and neighbouring villages every day after a walk along the shoreline. Loads of places to visit. On the shore the tide goes out a very long way and only at high tide do you see the waters edge, but thousands of shells and sandy sections that easily makes up for it. The drive back on and off the island is great as you have to use a low bridge. Which makes the journey an adventure. At very high tides (not too often and the week I was there none were) the island bridge cannot be used as water covers it, so depending on time of year/tides you may need to rearrange any journeys on/off by an hour or so. Swimming pool was open daily 10:00-17:00 and not closed on Tues or Thursday (which website said, so do check with reception). Whilst small the pool was warm, decent depth and great building as clear cover and can see shore. As out of season it was underused and quiet.

Wifi is poor, and my phone rarely got signal - and could be very slow so be prepared. I did majority of researching when out and about. But mapping apps fine. Apparently to get a better wifi log in at pool/site lounge area and it stays connected better. TV in property only has terrestrial programmes. Says you can log on to others but I wasn't sure how but happy with the terrestrial ones. Swimming pool - longer opening hours would be nice but appreciate that most places only have daytime opening. No smaller reading lights for bedroom but I used my torch. If you've not stayed in a caravan before, just be aware that single beds are narrower than at home and that the twin bed rooms are very compact. An 8 berth caravan is a great size for a couple plus 2/3 kids for a week or so. I would happily take my family to this site. It's got everything, seashore, sand, stones, shells, views, near countryside, villages and 25 minutes from City of Colchester with its historic sites, theatres and the zoo (I spent a rainy day there till close and still didn't see everything).

The atmosphere is quiet and lively very cool i liked the nature also

I didnt like the network problem communication and assignments were very hard to complete due to bad network and wifi i think on network it needs improvement especially when you are indoors you dont have network at all

Disappointed.

Close to family and friends

Stained carpets, curtains and cushions, no signal or WiFi signal. Beds we’ve very uncomfortable, small kitchen for the 8 person caravan and no space and no freezer space.. Where as the same price for the 6 person caravan with a terrace, modern decor and bigger kitchen. But carpets were also stained there.

A gateway to remember

We had an amazing vacation in Mersea with my group of friends! The staff were absolutely wonderful – so friendly, kind, and always willing to help with anything we needed. I loved the size of the apartment; it was spacious, comfortable, and had everything we could ask for. The swimming pool was a great addition, and the best part was the stunning sea view right from our apartment. The location was perfect with lovely weather throughout our stay, and it was so convenient to be able to park our cars right in front of the apartment. Everything about this trip made it such a memorable experience. We truly enjoyed every moment and will definitely be returning again! Grace asanga

I had a very relaxing stay, being close to nature was the best part, and most importantly it felt safe and the kids were

The property was very close to the beach, which was perfect. All the facilities and amenities were available, whether I needed food for my family or just wanted a quiet drink. There was also some entertainment for children during the weekend. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable, and the bed itself was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean with good water pressure. Cooking facilities were also available and worked well. Overall, everything was good. The staff were very friendly, relaxed, and always happy to help. We felt really well taken care of, and I’d like to give a big shout-out to the team for their amazing approach to customers – thank you for making us feel so comfortable.

What I didn’t like about the property was the very strong smell when we entered the caravan. I’m not sure if it came from cleaning products or something used on the carpets, but it was overwhelming and gave us headaches. Even with the doors open, we didn’t feel very comfortable. The smell did disappear after a day, but the first impression wasn’t great. The caravan overall felt a bit cramped. The curtains didn’t look the freshest, and some of the dishes in the cupboards were quite dirty. In terms of cleanliness, the beds were fine, but overall it could have been better. Another point is the Wi-Fi. I completely understand that for children it’s good not to have constant access, but as an adult it made things difficult. If I wanted to work from home during a stay, it would be almost impossible, and even something simple like watching a Netflix movie in the evening was very difficult due to the poor connection.

The pool was dangerously slippy resulting in a man falling with his baby in his arms food was expensive beach was discusting and nothing for kids to do caravan was dirty on arrival lights and lamps didn't work and bed wasn't comfy for a superior van was disappointing the managers children were rude and swore at my kids on the park and we were made to feel unwelcome in the muddy duck pub bingo so we returned to our van wouldn't visit again looked fun for the kids but they were bored the whole time also the van was swarmed with ants and the balconie was unsafe resulting in my 12 year old son falling down the and bruising all his back

Carpet in lounge old and stained Mattresses hard; need toppers Kitchen equipment poor; colonder too big, knives blunt, tin opener rusty. Oven didn’t heat enough to cook food, grill only heated half elements, two rings wouldn’t light. Swimming pool very restrictive and too many over the top health and safety rules.

Mucky ducks

The first caravan number 41 the elms was filthy we had to move but number 8?was very nice although we couldn’t understand why there was no brush or pan just to sweep up

We enjoyed our stay.

Our accommodation was worn with a lot of the soft furnishings stained. Some kitchen utensils were blunt and rusty. The front door had a knack to its closure. The caravan has had a hard life with a few of the internal walls and doors having had holes and heen repaired. On a positive note, lashings of hot water and it was quite and friendly and the staff were very helpful.

Lovely and clean caravan with everything needed for a relaxing family of 4. Only thing we found is that phone signal was impossible to get around the park and wifi we could not get on but we was there for a reset and didn't need phones.

Great stay

The location is great! Super close to a charming beach, next door to a lovely park, caravan was cosy and had everything you need for a comfortable stay (including kitchen utensils, very complete!) The pool area was great, stayed there a long time. Would definitely come back!

The caravan walls are soooo thin, you hear everything! A but hard to operate the heating for the radiators.
