L House

This is the best place I have stayed in Georgia by a million miles, and it’s one of my favourite places I’ve stayed ever. Lali and Liza are truly beautiful people and are the embodiment of Georgian hospitality. I simply cannot thank them enough for their generosity and I cannot recommend staying here more. It’s a beautiful home, so warm, really comfortable and relaxed. Eating Lali’s delicious breakfast on the balcony with the amazing views of the mountains is absolutely perfect. I’m so sad to have left! Didi madloba!!

Very personal and welcoming hosts. Lali, a former doctor, and her granddaughter Liza (who is already playing her own very open and cheerful part in hosting) are every helpful and friendly. They have told me a lot about Georgia, introduced me to Georgian food (self made, with fruits and spices from the garden - delicious!), and taught me with great patience Georgian words. We had interesting conversations about and politics, education and culture in Georgia and abroad. It is a wonderful place to get in touch with local people (who also respect when one needs some time for themselves).

Everything about this place is charming but above all, the hosts. The L in L House stands for Liza, who’s 10, speaks perfect English, is studying German and clearly enjoys making guests feel hugely welcome. Her grandma, Lali (who speaks Russian) is also massively welcoming. We were greeted with iced coffee, fresh strawberries, and home made cake, not to mention fresh roses in the room. Lali is very creative and both the house and garden reflect this. it’s a real oasis of calm and loveliness which you can appreciate from the big back balcony. She’s also a great cook. Breakfast was huge and tasty with everything home made. A real gem. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone.
