Domaine Boua de bas 2 ha fenced in exclusive use, outbuildings, swimming pool

What a delightful place. Beautiful house, fabulous gardens, great pool. And a bar, homegrown veg, chickens and a lake!We were very relaxed and happy here. Really thoughtful, friendly hosts, who have a delightful family home that was perfect for our holiday. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended.

We spent a wonderful two weeks at this gorgeous property. We were three generations of the same family and the house and gardens suited us all well. We loved the extensive gardens, with lovely places to wander and sit in the dappled shade, and of course the swimming pool. Our dog made herself at home immediately; it was great that the property was fully fenced so she could roam the garden freely too. We had fresh eggs from the chickens most days and some lovely vegetables from the garden. Didier and Véronique were excellent hosts, they there to welcome us, even after our much later than expected arrival time. They made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We wanted for nothing in the house, all the beds were extremely comfortable. We wanted a relaxing break and we certainly got it. I would highly recommend.

We had a magnificent 2 week holiday. The Mellin family were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The house and grounds are nothing short of stunning. The 2.5 acre grounds are completely fenced which was really nice for our dogs. There is a large pond where you can fish and also a vegetable garden which you may use. The house is cool enough to handle hot summer days, otherwise the 8 x 4 meter will help out. The property lies in a secluded countryside area but is less than 15 minutes away from the city Mont-de-Marsan with it’s supermarkets and restaurants. Every now and then a fighter jet flies by on it’s way to the nearby military airbase. The location is a good base to explore the bas armagnac area with it’s beautiful little villages to the east or the woodland of the regional nature parc to the north. We can highly recommend the property and would love to visit again.

The house and garden at Uchacq is amazing! We spent two blissful weeks here. Véronique and Didier have created something really special. They were there to welcome us to their home when we arrived, and despite the language differences, they gave us a warm and comprehensive introduction to the place. The house is beautiful, spacious, and remained cool in the hot weather. The bedrooms are big and airy, with generously sized and comfy beds and each with en suite bathroom. The kitchen has everything we needed and is well stocked with cooking equipment and tableware for big groups. But in the summer, it really is the garden that steals the show. The house is surrounded by a vast space, completely closed off from the rest of the world, that has been beautifully tended to. The sun swings round the house throughout the day so there is always a place to either soak it up, or enjoy delicious dappled shade under the mature trees. As two families with young children, it was an adventure playground, and there is lots provided for games like ping pong and badminton. Needless to say, most time was spent in and around the pool! And you can really settle for the day there as they have a beautiful pool house which provides cool shade and a bar inside, as well as a shaded veranda with space to lounge or eat a meal that you’ve cooked on the big gas griddle/plancha. Véro and Didier were such generous hosts, and had clearly put a lot of work into their immaculate garden. We had fresh eggs from the chickens every day and, were told we could help ourselves to fresh produce from the vegetable garden. Véronique even brought us fresh bread one morning. Beyond the property is farmland and pine forests, and there are lots of tracks for walking or running, accessible directly from the garden. Further afield, it is a quiet area, but if you are prepared for a longer drive the coast is not too far and there are some nice places to visit if you know where to go.
