Lovely cosy and convenient cottage for our stay in the Lake District

The location of this cottage is superb - excellent for touring the lakes. Also, you can walk from the cottage right up Blencathra. The village of Threlkeld is walkable to, we recommend St Mary's Church, and the Horse and Farrier Inn. Nearby Keswick has everything but is very touristy. We also walked up Latrigg (a good beginners' hill with fine views), and visited Grasmere for the Church, Wordsworth's grave, and the village (so pretty). If you need a cinema and shops, nearby Rheged is an interesting place. The cottage itself is cosy and comfortable, and good value for money.

We didn't need a washing airer on this occasion, but if it had been wet, there would've been nowhere to dry wet things. There is only a bath and it's not big, so the tall one of our family struggled a bit with that! The cottage could do with an airer, a vacuum cleaner, and a cafetiere. We did find the cottage warm, but a couple of insulating strips on the front door would go a long way to preventing cold draughts. Finally a couple of lights weren't working and although I sent a message through Booking.com I didn't hear back and they weren't fixed. Would definitely recommend overall though, and stay there again.

A lovely cosy cottage in a great location.

The cottage was very clean, warm and comfortable with everything we needed for a lovely break. The location is perfect, with great views and easy access to the surrounding area. The bath, with it's bubble jets and lights, was a real bonus as the kids actually wanted to get clean after a day out. The White Horse, just up the road in Scales, does really good food with generous sized portions. Threlkeld Coffee Shop in Threlkeld Village is also well worth a visit for great coffee and cakes, or lunch if you're feeling hungry, after the walk down. We'll definitely be back to stay again.

We made ghe best of it

The cottage was cosy and value for money at this time of year and in a decent location

Smoke alarm no battery or cover no hot Water at times smell of fuel in morning from boiler plug fused on tv play park was half demolished and not as pictures show advertised garden overgrown and full of dog shit traffic in end houses speed passed

Great cottage and location.

Great location and cottage. All we needed for a relaxing stay. Bubble bath a great bonus. Lovely views too.

Would be nice to have some tea, coffee and sugar in the kitchen.

Bare minimum

Location was great - easily accessible from the M6 with great access to walking and cycling routes and only 10mins drive from Keswick town

Weren’t given enough toilet roll for our whole stay (we don’t use excessive amounts), not even any hand soap provided. Poor (no) communication from the owner - I tried emailing through booking as well as calling the cottage own contact number to check check-in and check-out times given Covid. No response at all, and then to find on arrival that you are asked to check out half an hour early at 9:30 so the property can be cleaned - but you have to clean the kitchen and bathroom yourself!? Couldn’t get the bath water hot enough - took a few days to figure out you need to turn the tap on so slowly or the water can’t heat up enough. WiFi was really poor - not enough to download our OS map onto our mobile. All in all, we would not stay there again. Still, I’m sure it’d be fine for a family and kids, but be prepared to have to buy toilet roll, soap and literally everything you need. The only things provided were a dishcloth, washing up liquid and bathroom towels.

Fantastic , homely, perfect location - will come again

Location superb! spacious, comfortable, clean, warm. Fantastic to have use of the washing machine. And the kids loved the hot tub style bath.

Only slight criticism would be that booking.com aren’t up to date with the owners check in/check out time’s. Check in was 3pm by booking.com but the owners had it as 5pm. Owner was very accommodating though and let us in at 4pm. Same with check out it said 10 but due to Covid it was 9.30 to give the cleaners more time. However I would say from being there and seeing first hand how long the cleaning took in all the properties and the fact your asked to clean bathroom/kitchen before you leave it makes little sense to have such a late check in time!

Nice cottage

Location was good between Penrith and Keswick. The Cottage was very cosy, warm and comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped with everything you want, apart from a bottle opener! WiFi very good, plenty of tv channels and you can use Netflix if you have an account.

The shower isn’t great, it’s a hand one in the bath.
