Very nice

Our multi-generational family of eight spent a fabulous and relaxing week at this house. It is perfectly situated between the inviting and very different towns of Woodstock and Saugerties. And it's hard to beat the inspiring view of the Catskills rising from the backyard! The kitchen has every amenity. The open kitchen-dining-living area is great for crowds of all sizes. The bedrooms are comfortable and provide plenty of privacy. And we all raved about the pool. We happily spent every evening there. Jane was very welcoming in advance of our visit, and a helpful neighbor checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. We highly recommend this spacious and comfortable house and pool. We loved it!!

My family spent a wonderful two weeks at this great home half way up a mountain near Woodstock. The size of our group varied throughout the stay, but at its peak we had 7 adults and 3 young children and still had plenty of room. The main house is spacious and has multiple areas for people to gather or for someone to get alone time, including many tranquil spots with inspiring views of the mountain. The property is large and there is plenty of space to play outside, including a nice artificial tree house/swing set for kids. The best part of the property is the huge pool, which is even larger than it looks in the pictures. It is the largest pool I have seen at a private residence and it is accompanied by a large pool house with a nice kitchen, bathroom, large dining/relaxing area, and a small room with a futon which is good for children to nap. We spent much of our time during the day relaxing down by the pool, including enjoying meals there. The property is situated in a nice location where the property (and in particular the pool and pool house) are very private, but only about 15 minutes from both Saugerties and Woodstock for groceries, restaurants, and other activities. There are also numerous outdoor activities and sites of interest within relatively short drive from the property. The house was clean and well maintained and had all of the basic things guests might need, such as towels, dishes, utensils, cookware, etc. both at the main house and at the pool house. I would enthusiastically recommend this home to anyone looking for a family get away.

We rented this lovely home for a summer week's escape and were sad to have to leave. We're a family of five, with kids of 3, 7, and 13 respectively and there was plenty of room to spread out. More importantly, there was something to keep everyone engaged, from the jungle gym and lawns to the billiards & ping pong tables to the swimming pool...oh that pool! We quickly learned that the daily routine (as mandated by our children) would be to wake up, meander down to the pool house in the dawn dusk, cook up breakfast, and spend the balance of the day floating in saline goodness. The pool house has all the comforts and amenities for lazy summer days and nights. Jane and Richard, the property owners, spend a good portion of their time in this home and it shows in the quality of care and upkeep. It's a well-loved home inside and out. And we couldn't have asked for nicer people to have as property owners. Jane checked in regularly to make sure everything was in good order for us (and to make sure the pool was not running too low...for which we were quite grateful). And they have a local caretaker who keeps the grounds beautifully maintained and is available to assist with any maintenance issues. Location-wise, the property is comfortably nestled against the foothills of the mountains; far enough from the madding crowd to feel secluded but an easy 20 minutes to the restaurants and boutiques of both Woodstock and Saugerties. Highly recommend this property!
