Tripas-Coração, São Bento Apartments

We were at the 1st floor front facing apartment during tge last week in September. The weather was mostly fine and mid 20s (C). It is a very good location, across from the Sao Bento railway station and next door to the Metro station. The staff were very responsive and helpful. Comfortable bed and spacious storage in the wardrobe. The ceiling is high and ornate. It is a small but very well designed apartment. The welcome gift of water and port was indeed welcome especially as we arrived to late to get supplies. The two powerful fans were gratefully used.

The negative side of the superb location is the how busy and noisy it was outside at all hours. We had difficulty gaining access at first as my internet connection kept going down but a couple of Whatsap messages with the helpful staff sorted it. We found it difficult to cool the apartment as the temptation was to keep the shuttters closed to keep out the noise from outside.

Bathroom could use an upgrade but it was still comfortable

Property very central so ideal spot for our city break. Lovely old building and flat was decorated and furnished well and very clean

It was too hot whilst we were there as Porto was having a mini heatwave! The apartment has fans as I’m guessing the building is too old for aircon but it was too hot on a night to sleep comfortably. The cafe downstairs woke us in a morning while setting up and there was construction noise nearby. Earplugs are provided by the host though. We would happily still go again though and highly recommend.

Location was in the heart of the city, you step out to all the cafes and shops. Also right next to train station.

No elevator but the views from the 4th floor were worth it.
