About this house rental
Sheltered by beautiful pohutukawas behind the house. Large decks, paved area and lawn. Large open plan lounge/dining with window seats and huge covered outdoor living area with plenty of outdoor furniture, sun lounger, BBQ, beer fridge and spa pool
Spacious bathroom and bedrooms. 3rd toilet, Sky TV and WiFi Carpeted double garage with plenty of outside parking Ohope is 8km of gently sloping safe sandy beach with the surf club (patrolled in summer) and reserve directly opposite the house
Just across from the driveway are a dairy, cafe's, restaurant, art gallery and shops. Short walk to a pizza/ bakery and service station. Whakatane is 5km away with all services and shops
Pohutukawa forest walk - left at bottom of drive and starts at base of Ohope hill. Go at night to hear kiwis and see the glowworms. Loop track 1hr easy Beach and bush walk to lovely secluded Otarawairere Bay at West End. Coastal walk from Ohope to Whakatane
Ohiwa harbour just a few minutes away – sheltered fishing, kayaking and all water sports. Tennis courts and Ohope golf course just minutes away
White Island cruise if you want to walk up to an active volcano or Whale Island bird sanctuary trip.
Local berry farms have great berries and the yummiest berry icecreams you could wish for. Petting zoo for kids
Rotorua, Tauranga and Mt Maunganui all approx 1 hour away
And of course enjoy our beach

The views are amazing. Gerry was very responsive, and gracious. Very nice neighbors as well. Highly recommend this for your short or long getaway.

The property is located on a rise so it is private, quiet and has a commanding view over the beach. It is close to Whakatane and across the road from a lovely stretch of beach and some nice shops. The owners are very accommodating and so make staying at their property a very pleasant experience. I would highly recommend this property.

My family and I really enjoyed our 10 day stay at this lovely property. The property is located at the Whakatane end of hope, which is the best end. It is elevated so it enjoys great views of the beach, privacy, quiet and sun.
If you want to rent a 4 bedroom house at Ohope, this is the property to rent.

We had such a wonderful stay at Gerry’s house in Ohope. The house has such magnificent views of the beach, the sunrises and sunsets were fabulous and the spa was such a nice addition to enjoy outside.
The house had everything we needed and was spacious and beds were very comfortable. The house felt very safe for our little children which meant we could relax and enjoy our stay. Gerry was helpful and friendly to communicate with on the phone when I had questions, overall it was a very enjoyable stay. We would love to come back another time soon!
