The apartment is very good and the location is perfect.

Great location, close to restaurants, transportation, shops

It’s not exactly that I didn’t like but the ups and downs in Alfama area leaves you breathless.

The place was good overall and is located in Alfama, which is close to many attractions since it’s in the city center. Just a heads-up: Ubers and taxis will drop you off on a nearby street, and from there you’ll need to walk and take some stairs, as the apartment is on a pedestrian-only street.

there was a persistent unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom that never went away

Location great. On first sight modern and equipped.

The terrible smell of sewage and sulphur coming from the bathroom, there was no ventilation so impossible to get rid of the smell. The beds were springy and uncomfortable. Apartment was also very cold and no duvet only an old blanket in the cupboards. On closer inspection there was a lot of dust and dirt and even random hairs in the bathroom. We were locked out of our apartment on last night when we returned around 8pm which meant that we missed our dinner reservation!
