Zazen Boutique Resort was an amazing experience. The beautiful white interiors, elegant design, and peaceful boutique atmosphere make this place feel truly special. The food was excellent, and the staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is officially at 11:00 AM, but they kindly allowed us to check out at 12 noon, which we really appreciated. The resort is definitely highly recommended if you’re looking for a stylish and relaxing stay in Koh Samui. And one thing you absolutely must try — their Mango Sticky Rice! 🥭🥭 It was delicious and one of our favourites from the stay.

⭐ Beautiful boutique property, but not quite worth the price * Beautiful boutique hotel with a lot of charm. The property is very well designed and has a lovely, intimate atmosphere. * We absolutely loved the breakfast and the setting of the restaurant. It was one of the highlights of our stay. * We booked a Beachfront Villa, expecting privacy and a peaceful beachfront experience. Unfortunately, this was not the case. * The beachfront area functions almost like a docking station, and throughout the morning there were people loading and preparing boats right in front of the villa. This meant very little privacy, which was disappointing considering we specifically paid extra for a beachfront villa. 💰 Value for money * Overall, I didn’t find the stay worth the price. * At this price point, I expected a higher level of attention to detail and generosity from the hotel, particularly when it comes to basic necessities. 💧 The water situation was surprisingly disappointing * The hotel provided 4 bottles of water in the room, which we used for drinking and brushing our teeth. * The next morning, I asked for more water and was told that 4 bottles are provided per day. I accepted that policy and simply asked them to send the day’s allocation. * However, they sent only 2 bottles. * Honestly, this was difficult to understand. Water is such a basic necessity, especially when guests are paying a significant amount for a beachfront villa. * In Thailand, where hospitality is such an important part of the hotel experience, I expected the hotel to be more generous with drinking water. If you’re charging this much for one night, having to carefully ration a few bottles of water feels unnecessarily stingy. Overall * A beautiful boutique property with an excellent breakfast and restaurant setting, and there is clearly a lot to love about the hotel. * However, the lack of privacy at the beachfront villa, combined with the overall price and the unnecessarily restrictive approach to drinking water, meant that the experience didn’t feel like good value for money. * Beautiful hotel, but at this price point, I expected more.
