The Hoxton Williamsburg

We loved this hotel. The room was very clean and had a lot of great inclusions - mini fridge, kettle, tea, coffee. It was on the smaller side, but that’s NYC! The location was stellar, away from the chaos of the city, but so close on the subway. The restaurant on top of the hotel also has an unbelievable view of Manhattan, and the cafe next to reception was pretty good. You can also rent a bike for free, which was a great touch. Would return in a heartbeat.

The location is GREAT. Easy access to all of Williamsburg - shops, beach area, night life, etc. As an elderly person, I found the hotel iselfi super clean and very attentive staff. Only drawback: small rooms - if you need to spread out, you’re in trouble. For me, this was easily offset ny the location & the quietness of the room.

The hotel was great. The restaurants (both food and ambiance) are fantastic. The design is great. I got a Cosy room which was smaller than I would've liked for a 6 day stay. I had to have the phone, toilet paper roll holder, and the bathroom knob fixed, but the engineers were very responsive and effective and got them fixed quickly. I'll return again, I'll just get a larger room if I stay for more than a few days.

I recently spent a week with a booking for the cozy twin room staying with one of my friends (male). I (female) spent significantly more money to book the twin room because I wanted the separate beds. Upon checking in, we quickly noticed a major red flag in that the bathroom door is frosted glass that you can completely see through with a mirror that reflects directly towards the beds. I was mortified!! BEWARE if you are travelling with friends and wish to share this room be prepared to see your friend shower naked and use the toilet because it is completely transparent glass. I notified the staff on my first night and the only resolution was for me to pay an additional $1100 USD (apparently the staff rate) to book an additional room which I basically had to pay under duress as my friend and I didn’t have time to waste standing in the hallway everytime we needed to shower or use the bathroom. The floors were also dirty as in dirt would stick to my socks walking over the floor. Additionally my shower in my new room lost hot water to the point where I called reception and an engineer tell me I had to wait 30 minutes as other people must be showering too. Although the hotel had a nice atmosphere and was in a really good location I wouldn’t recommend it travelling with a friend personally. I have tried to reach out to the hotel to see if they want to rectify the issue but it’s been a week now and I’ve heard nothing so I don’t think they care enough to resolve the issue.
