    Great location with excellent facility and nice room. Everything is great. Super clean, organized and fancy setting in this quite historical building. Stuffs are super friendly and helpful.

    First time in Penang and chose The Edison Hotel due to its location and it being a unique heritage building. Upon arriving, we felt welcome by the great staff and was immediately given a list of recommendations for food in Penang. We were also allowed an early check in which helped greatly with my 16month old. The hotel provided Ala carte breakfast and also 24/7 snacks and drinks in the lounge area. Great for some midnight nibbles. The staff are no doubt super friendly and helpful. I want to say thanks to the front desk staff Albert and also the waitering staff - Phie Lee for being so accommodating with our requests for child friendly meals. The room was large but slightly bare. The floor boards are also a little creaky and we had to tip toe around to not wake our toddler. Cleanliness wise, the room and bathroom was clean so no complains there. One thing to note which other reviews have mentioned is there is a food place just opposite with loud music playing till almost 11pm plus so do take note. (Do try the Char Kuay Tiao there though, it’s delicious!) All in all a good and comfortable stay, we will bring our extended families back!

    We love our stay at The Edison. The hotel itself is in a beautifully restored old mansion. It is tastefully decorated and modernised, but keep in mind that there is no elevator. The somewhat steeper (but beautiful) staircase will be difficult to navigate for people with mobility issue or knee problems. No minibar in the room, just a pitcher of water with glasses. However, they have 24-hr lounge where you can freely grab drinks and snacks. Breakfast is of good quality but very basic with freshly cooked eggs, toast, and fruits. Don't expect a buffet spread with many stations commonly found in upscale hotels. Location is great, just across the Blue Mansion, and within walking distance to many places of interest, restaurants, and street foods. What truly impressed us was the proactive and friendly service by the hotel staff. They always stop by to check if we need help, give suggestions, or just have a quick friendly chat. The manager, Mr. Albert Tan, was very helpful with recommendations on where to eat or go visit. Knowing our flight was later in the evening, he also kindly made arrangement for us to have a bit of rest before going to airport. We enjoyed our stay there, and if we go back to Penang, most likely we'll be back at The Edison.
