Full of character and history, quaint but spotlessly clean, excellent location, friendly and helpful. To-go breakfast was plentiful and handy to take on the road. Would happily stay there again.
Only complaint is the parking - plenty of street parking but you have to pay either by coins (needed £10 for about 2 hrs) or by an app which was a huge struggle to try to make work and eventually couldn't because it needed to send a verification text to the cell number linked to my credit card - which I don't have access to while in the UK. Nothing to do with the hotel, just FYI.

Large rooms, competitive price, continental breakfast included, great location. I would definitely stay here again. Just be aware the hotel is a grand old townhouse over several floors - so no lift.

We loved the Terrace hotel and wished we could stay longer! Lovely quiet location walkable to the sights, historic building, fridge and microwave access, front sitting room to hang out in, so many extras! There is no elevator but if able the top floor has stunning views. The breakfast items did us for lunch as well, and were a real perk at this hotel’s low price. There is also coffee and tea available all day. If you’re the type who prefers the cookie cutter chain hotels when travelling, this hotel may not be for you. But for those who like discovering local hidden gems, you’ll love the Terrace hotel!

I read the reviews and knew about breakfast, which is great for me. I'm not a people person in the mornings, having a continental breakfast outside my door each morning to eat hidden away was perfect. The rooms spot on, it's a bed, bathroom, heater and fan. Beds comfy, bathrooms nice. Desk, side table, TV, lamp, wardrobe, mirrors coffee and tea making facilities all in the room. For £90 it's a fair price imo. Staff have been really nice and friendly. I've had a really positive experience and will look at staying again if I come back to Edinburgh.
