Suizo Hotel

Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay at Hotel Suizo. The location of the hotel is excellent. Many sights and numerous shopping opportunities are within easy walking distance, usually around 10–15 minutes. Bus and metro stations are also nearby, making it easy to explore Barcelona. We arrived at the hotel at around 11:00 a.m. Although the official check-in time is from 3:00 p.m., we were able to check in immediately because our room was already ready. This was a great advantage. Despite the very central location, the hotel is pleasantly quiet. The room itself was well equipped. It had a refrigerator, a safe, and air conditioning. The TV offered German channels, which was a nice positive point. However, one small disadvantage was that it was only a regular flat-screen TV without Smart TV functionality. Unfortunately, the tap water also had a strong chlorine smell. The breakfast buffet offered a large and varied selection and was very enjoyable. Around one week before our arrival, we contacted the hotel by email. This was partly because of suspicious scam messages we had received via email and WhatsApp, and partly to ask whether it would be possible to have breakfast earlier on two days due to an early morning tour and our return flight. Unfortunately, an earlier breakfast was not possible, but the hotel offered to prepare breakfast packages instead. On Tuesday evening, while we were already at the hotel, we asked at the reception to confirm whether the breakfast package for Wednesday morning had been arranged. It turned out that nothing had been noted in the system. However, the staff were friendly and took care of organising it in time. The breakfast package could not really compare with the breakfast buffet. On Wednesday, it consisted of one sandwich, one apple, one pear, and one bottle of water per person. A positive point was that, despite having the breakfast package, we were allowed to have coffee in the hotel restaurant. Unfortunately, the situation was different on Friday. Although we also received a breakfast package, we were no longer allowed to have coffee in the restaurant. We were told that we had to choose either the breakfast package or breakfast in the restaurant. Since we could not use the buffet due to our early flight, we found this decision disappointing and not very customer-friendly. The quality of the breakfast package on Friday was also noticeably worse than on Wednesday. It seemed to have been put together very quickly and gave the impression that it had been bought from the nearest supermarket. It consisted only of a sandwich with very little filling, an apple compote, a small pastry, and a bottle of water. Conclusion: The hotel’s main strengths are its excellent location, quiet rooms, good facilities, friendly service, and very good breakfast buffet. The main points for improvement are the organisation and quality of the breakfast packages and the inconsistent handling regarding coffee. Overall, we would still recommend this hotel.

I am disappointed with the service we received, particularly from the front desk staff. When we asked for drinking water at check-in, we were told to drink tap water instead. Most hotels, especially those at your price level, provide complimentary bottled water as a basic courtesy. For an expensive hotel, this response felt unhelpful and unwelcoming. I hope you take this feedback seriously and improve your customer service standards.
