Stone Beach Residence Adults Only Resort

We really wanted to love our stay at Stone Beach Residence, particularly because the setting and concept of the resort are lovely. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell quite a long way short of what we expected. The staff themselves were genuinely wonderful. They were friendly, kind and went out of their way to help us whenever we raised an issue. They really did their best to make our stay comfortable, and it’s important to separate the staff from the issues with the property and management. Unfortunately, the resort itself feels very tired and in need of significant maintenance and attention to detail. On arrival, our first room didn’t even have a toilet seat. We also encountered issues with the beds, with some not properly made and pillows without pillowcases. These are fairly basic things that you simply don’t expect when staying at a resort. Our biggest issue, however, was the noise. We had two dogs barking outside our room throughout the night, making it extremely difficult to sleep. For a property that markets itself as a relaxing resort, this was particularly disappointing. We were also disappointed by the communication around breakfast. We booked expecting breakfast to be included as part of the resort experience, only to be told on arrival that because the season had ended, breakfast was no longer being provided. We completely understand that services can change outside peak season, but this should have been communicated clearly before arrival rather than being discovered once we were already there. There were a number of other small issues during our stay which, individually, might not have mattered very much. Unfortunately, when added together, they made the experience feel considerably below what we had expected from the property and its pricing. It’s a real shame because there is a lot of potential here. The location is beautiful, the concept is appealing and the staff are genuinely lovely. With some investment in maintenance, better attention to room preparation, clearer communication about seasonal services and better management of noise, this could be a really special place. Our thanks to the staff who did everything they could to help us during our stay. Sadly, though, based on our experience, we left feeling that the property itself needs some significant improvement before it lives up to its promise.
