    Our stay at Stanford Hotel Myeongdong was a complete nightmare. We paid a premium rate, only to be met with filthy room conditions, zero flexibility, and a shocking lack of basic empathy from management. 💸 Exploitative Pricing & Inflexible Booking The nightmare started before we even arrived. I realized a booking mistake and requested a cancellation just 24 hours after making it. The hotel rejected our appeal instantly. We soon realized why: right after locking us into our high rate, the price for the exact same room type dropped by more than SGD $500. They stubbornly held onto our booking just to pocket the extra cash. 🤢 Foul Odours & Filthy Room • The Smell: The room had a heavy, musty odour. Worse, the headboards and corners of the bed trapped a terrible, stale smell that hit you the second you lay down. • The Linens: Despite daily room service, the "fresh" towels never actually smelled clean. • The Carpet: The floor is filthy. We sat on the carpet for just a few minutes to pack our luggage, and all three of us broke out in itchy bites and rashes. • The Beds: The mattresses are completely worn out and saggy. With zero back support, all three of us woke up every single day with severe backaches and neck pain. 🚽 Defective Bathroom & Heartless Service • Plumbing Hazard: The toilet flush is incredibly weak and constantly gets stuck. We spent the entire trip paranoid that it would overflow. • Bathtub Danger: The room only has a bathtub, making standard showers highly inconvenient. • Upselling an Injury: During the trip, one of us severely sprained her ankle. Climbing into a high bathtub was a massive safety risk, so we requested a room change to a standing shower. The front desk flatly rejected us, claiming the hotel was fully booked. However, they immediately contradicted themselves by saying a room was available if we paid more money to upgrade. Exploiting a guest’s physical injury for a cash grab is disgusting. 👎 Final Verdict Stanford Hotel Myeongdong cares only about your money, not your safety or comfort. Save your money and your health—do not book this hotel.
