Location is centralized, near to NSW museum, st Mary cathedral and other major shopping areas. We were staying in a twin bed room and the only thing I find not satisfactorily is that the bed is too small. Other than that, all’s good!

Stayed for a night while visiting friends in Sydney. Sheraton Hyde park is truly a beautiful property. From the moment I arrived the staff were so friendly and courteous- nothing was too much trouble. I checked straight in and my room was perfectly clean and well presented. The bed was one of the comfiest I have slept in. Would absolutely recommend

I stayed at the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park for 8 nights and paid approximately *** for the stay. At this price point, I expected a noticeably higher level of comfort, attention to detail, and service. One of the most concerning issues was the bathtub. Every time I filled it, there were clearly visible small black particles in the water. This happened consistently throughout my stay and made me uncomfortable using the bath. The bed was also far too soft and sagged noticeably, which left me with back pain. The pillows, despite having two different options, did not provide much support either. In comparison, my experience at *** in Melbourne was significantly better when it came to the bed, pillows, and overall sleep quality — the bedding there was so comfortable that I actually wanted to buy the same products for my home. Another thing I really disliked was the window and shutter design. The wooden shutters are installed on the inside, with the glass windows behind them, which obstructs the view and makes the room feel more enclosed than it should. One of the reasons for staying in a room with a view is to actually enjoy it, but the shutters made it difficult to get a clear, unobstructed view outside. The setup was also surprisingly impractical at night. Even with both the external roller blind and the internal wooden shutters fully closed, light still came through. So the design somehow compromises both sides: you don’t get a clear view when you want one, yet you also don’t get proper darkness when you want to sleep. I found this particularly frustrating and would much prefer a conventional curtain or blackout system. I also mentioned in advance that one of the nights during our stay was my husband’s birthday. I wasn’t expecting anything extravagant, but based on experiences with other hotels, I did have a small expectation that there might be a complimentary cake, a simple room decoration, or even just a small gesture to acknowledge the occasion. Instead, the hotel offered a paid celebration package. I was a little surprised — but I ended up paying for it anyway! :) It wasn’t a major issue, just one of those small touches that could have made the stay feel more special and personal. Service was adequate, but there were small details that did not match my expectations for a hotel at this level. For example, a bellman approached us and asked whether we would like help with our luggage. At a hotel charging more than *** per night, I would expect luggage assistance to be offered proactively rather than having to be asked. Daily housekeeping was also rather basic. I left a request asking for towels, a bath mat, and bottled water to be replenished every day, but the request did not seem to be followed. Eventually, I had to find paper and leave a new note for housekeeping each day. It would have made a big difference if guest preferences and requests were communicated and followed more consistently. The lobby also has surprisingly limited seating, making it difficult to find somewhere to sit while waiting for a car or meeting someone. On the positive side, the front desk and check-in experience were perfectly fine. Overall, I would say the experience was mixed. I would not actively recommend the hotel, although if friends asked me about it, I would explain both the positives and negatives. I had expected more considering the price and the Sheraton brand. The stay was certainly not terrible or uncomfortable throughout, but it also did not leave me wanting to return. If I visit Sydney again, I would most likely choose a different hotel.
