From the incredibly warm and attentive staff to the stunning beachfront location, every detail felt top notch. 🏝️💙 The restaurants were amazing (hello, Nikkei at Dip + sunset vibes at Buhi Cave Bar 🍣🍹), but our Honeymoon Suite stole the show, always spotless, beautifully designed and full of sweet surprises like a towel elephant and heartfelt notes that made us feel so special. 🐘💌 This place is wellness for the mind, body, and soul. We loved every momen and we’ll definitely be back! 💑🌴

All went well from Food to amenities... not until we experienced electrical problems with our room that we need to transfer to another at the middle of the night. We were transferred to a bigger room but still giving us some inconvenience.

Was a nice hotel, large rooms,great bed and pillows. Own private beach. Spa was exceptional.

Disappointing Birthday Stay at Sheraton Mactan I’ve been going to Cebu since I was a baby, and my family and I visit around 2–3 times a year. Over the years, we’ve stayed at everything from budget hotels to some of the most expensive properties in Cebu, so I have a fairly broad basis for comparison when it comes to hotels and service. For my 33rd birthday, I decided to celebrate at Sheraton Mactan with a close friend. We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights, arriving on my actual birthday. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to what I expected from a hotel of this level. Transportation was a major problem One of our biggest issues was getting transportation from the hotel. It was extremely difficult to book a Grab. We would try repeatedly, but drivers would not accept the bookings. It seemed that we could only get picked up when a Grab was already arriving at the hotel with another guest. I understand that Sheraton cannot control whether Grab drivers accept a booking. However, if a property is located somewhere that is not easily accessible to taxis or ride-hailing services, there should be a reliable alternative for hotel guests. Many hotels in less accessible locations provide complimentary or reasonably priced shuttle services to and from the property. At the very least, I expected the hotel staff to be more proactive in helping guests arrange transportation. Unfortunately, when we approached staff for assistance because we were essentially stuck at the hotel and could not get a Grab, they were not particularly helpful. For a luxury property, I expected the staff to take more initiative in finding a solution rather than leaving us to figure it out ourselves. The birthday dinner was underwhelming We also wanted to have a special birthday dinner at one of the hotel’s restaurants. We specifically chose the restaurant because it was Michelin-selected, and that recognition was one of the reasons we decided to dine there for my birthday. We had an 8:00 PM reservation but arrived around 30 minutes early. We were told that we had to wait until exactly 8:00 PM before we could be seated. That would have been understandable if the restaurant were busy. However, when we were finally allowed inside, the restaurant was only around 20% occupied. It was difficult to understand why we couldn’t have been seated earlier when there were clearly plenty of available tables. Unfortunately, the food itself was also just okay. Considering the restaurant’s reputation and the fact that we specifically chose it for a special birthday dinner, I expected the dining experience to be much more memorable. The birthday experience was particularly disappointing What disappointed me most, however, was the lack of acknowledgment of my birthday by the hotel. We arrived on my actual birthday, and throughout our 4-day, 3-night stay, not a single hotel staff member acknowledged it. We even mentioned my birthday several times to different staff members, but it felt as though nobody was really listening or taking note. I wasn’t expecting an elaborate surprise or anything extravagant. Even a simple “Happy Birthday” would have been enough. What made this even more puzzling was that a friend of mine had stayed at Sheraton Mactan just one week before my birthday to celebrate hers, and she was given a small birthday cake by the hotel. During our own stay, we also heard hotel staff singing “Happy Birthday” to a guest in the room next to ours. So naturally, I was left wondering why my birthday was treated differently. To be clear, the issue was never about getting a free cake. We had already bought our own cake, so we weren’t expecting the hotel to provide one. The disappointing part was the inconsistency. Other guests were being acknowledged and celebrated, while my birthday went completely unnoticed despite the fact that we had specifically mentioned it to staff.
