Runway 1331 - Campus Hostel

This is a very affordable place to stay in Hong Kong, especially for travelers on a tight budget. The room was quite spacious and had the basic facilities you would need, including a bed, power extension, refrigerator, electric kettle, hairdryer, private bathroom, hot water, and air conditioning. However, no drinking water was provided, so you should bring your own. Unfortunately, my room was on the first floor and had extremely high humidity. I had to keep the air conditioner on Dry mode almost all the time. When I used the normal cooling mode, the floor was completely wet the next morning because of the moisture. The biggest issue for me was the amount of mold. There was quite a lot of mold in the bathroom, especially on the shower curtain, and there was also mold on the walls of the room. The wall next to the towel rack was particularly covered with mold. I normally don't mind a small amount of mold in a humid place, but this was too much for me. Interestingly, I tried wiping some of it with alcohol and it came off quite easily, which made me feel that with more thorough and regular cleaning, the room could probably be much cleaner. The towels are disposable-type towels, so I would recommend bringing your own if you prefer normal fabric towels. The room looks very cozy and attractive in the photos, and the actual room is generally consistent with the pictures. The property is located in a relatively remote area, but buses run regularly. However, you may sometimes have to wait, so it is important to plan your travel time carefully. On the positive side, the exterior of the property is nicely decorated and the views are beautiful. The area is peaceful and not crowded. On weekends, you can also take a ferry to North Point, and the views from the pier are lovely. The night view looking toward Hong Kong Island is also beautiful. As for the reception, my experience was similar to what I had read in other reviews. The staff were not really friendly, but I think a little more smiling and friendliness would make guests feel more welcome. Overall, I think this place is suitable for travelers who really want to save money, enjoy trying a different kind of accommodation, and appreciate beautiful views and a quiet environment. However, you should be prepared for high humidity and mold, especially if you are staying on the first floor.
