Panuba Inn Resort

We enjoyed our stay at Panuba Inn. It has its own private beach, with a spectacular view from our balcony, and even the food is nice. The staff are very friendly and they made us feel like home. We highly recommend Panuba Inn

The resort offers great value for money, with a beautiful, tranquil setting that makes for a restful and relaxing staycation. That said, the location can be a little challenging—you’ll need to either hire a private boat from Tekek jetty or trek to reach the property. The rooms and facilities could use better upkeep, as maintenance and cleanliness are areas that need attention. Some parts of the resort feel a bit worn down. On the bright side, the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, which made the overall experience much more pleasant.

Whether I would recommend this hotel depends on your circumstances. If you are here for honeymoon, staycation and wouldnt be bothered with snorkeling or diving or any activities. I would say yes, I would recommend this place purely because it is secluded, away from the crowd. However, if you are here as a solo traveler, or you would love to constantly participating in activities then I would say no, i would not recommend this place. Jumping right into the main points: 1. You could only reach Panuba by water taxi (not free) or jungle trekking. The jungle trail involves very steep climbing rather than flat path. There is no lighting at night. Without bags, it took me 10min to walk through; with bags (i would highly NOT recommend trekking), it took me 20min. 2. The staff were extremely accommodating especially Puyen. I felt like I was being treated as a royalty when I was there - no exaggeration. A++ for the staff. 3. The rooms are a dated. Im a very easy going traveler so that doesn't bother me too much. There were ants in the room (again, did not bother me but some people might) 4. Food is good. The highlight of my stay was actually the staff. A bit on the pricey side especially when you could not get to ABC easily to get your food: I felt a bit trapped. All in all, it's a mixed feeling for me. I enjoyed my stay mainly due to the staff. But I would not return due to the difficulty of mobility. I almost felt like I was trapped in that resort. Of course, water taxi is available but it is not cheap (rm15 pp to ABC, min 2 ppl, if you are solo traveler, you would need to pay rm30 just to ABC) My verdict is, I feel it is such ashamed the hotel isnt managed properly. If they could just upkeep the front few rooms for operation, restore the main area to their original beauty, most importantly, hire a boat taxi to work solely for the hotel to transport their guests to ABC or Tekek, it would gradually bring the hotel its previous glory. I love (and hate) Panuba for where its location. But only hate, because there is absence of hotel transportation between Panuba to at least, ABC.
