One One Bangkok Hotel

The staff welcomed me warmly upon arrival, every thing was pretty nice. However, the location of the hotel is very close to the street. I stayed on the road side, I couldn’t fall asleep cuz of the noise. Unfortunately all of the room were packed there’s no room to switch so I have to check out early and switch to another hotel instead.

First of all, the staff at the hotel is very unfriendly. It felt like I wasn't in Thailand; I was in a different country. They don't smile. Both the staff at the front desk and the staff at the restaurant seem incredibly sad and unhappy. And if they do smile, it feels forced and fake. They put me in a room facing the street, and it was way too noisy, so I asked the lady at reception if I could please change rooms. After typing on the computer for 5 minutes, they gave me the key to another room. The one next to it!! It didn't face the street directly, but it was the one just past the corner on the next side. I could still see the street and hear the noise. The next morning, I went back and told them I wanted to change rooms again. They gave me another room that was quiet, but it smelled so horrible of smoke that it was disgusting. I was too tired to go back and change again, so I was stuck with the smelly room for four nights. Bear in mind, the hotel was practically empty. I had breakfast there four times, and I was the only person there every single time, four days in a row. They had five floors to choose from! Speaking of breakfast, there is no buffet. They have a selection of 6 preset meals to choose from, and you're stuck with them. I wanted some eggs, and the only dish with eggs was the American Breakfast, which came with bacon and sausages that I didn't want. I told them I just wanted the eggs and some vegetables. They don't have vegetables. So my breakfast was toast and eggs. Incredibly sad. The last day I didn't even bother having breakfast there even if I had already paid for it, I just went out to eat instead. Oh, and on the second day, when I had breakfast, I handed over the coupon (which is completely unnecessary, but that's another story), and the lady panicked because the room number on the coupon didn't match the room number she had on her list. That's because I had changed rooms obviously, and they were apparently not prepared for such a drastic event! So the sad lady at the restaurant went to talk to reception, and then they all came back to see what the problem was. It was like amateur hour, lol. I mean, had nobody ever changed rooms in that hotel before? Then one of the ladies at the restaurant told me that the next day, when I handed over the coupon, I needed to tell the lady that I had changed rooms. That was just surreal. I told her, "Look at my face. I'm the guy who changed rooms. Please remember that tomorrow ok?" Back to the smelly room: I felt like gagging every time I went in there. Good thing the brain gets used to the smell after five minutes and you forget about it. Regarding facilities, there's no gym and no swimming pool. The good things about this hotel are the location and the rooms, which are spacious and nice overall. But the staff is so bad that the management really needs to rethink how the whole place is run. As the cherry on top, when I checked out, I had two heavy suitcases and a backpack and was struggling to get to the door while the taxi was waiting for me. The two ladies at the desk were just looking at me. Nobody offered any help whatsoever. Never again.

Breakfast not good

Hotel used to be good condition & now in need of fresh renovation. Hotel & room are poorly lit. A lot of aging furnitures & shower have bad mix of hot & cold water.
