If you are looking for somewhere that is accessible to Pg de Gràcia and yet still quiet, this is a good fit… next to the metro although I traveled by cab which cost no more than 15euro to all the places of interest … staff are friendly, clean and spacey rooms , I can’t complain !!

"We recently stayed at the hotel and had a fantastic experience! The staff were top-notch, especially Margarita from the Front Desk . She was amazing, remembering we're repeat customers and going the extra mile to make us feel welcome. Special thanks to her for the assistance! We were also thrilled with the complimentary bottle of wine and macaroons - what a lovely surprise! And thanks for upgrading one of our standard rooms to a premium room, it was a great treat! All the front desk clerks were super friendly and helpful, even helping us load our bags into the taxi when we left. And the staff at the restaurant were all smiles and great service too. Olivia Balmes Hotel will always be our home away from home whenever we visit Barcelona - we'll definitely be back! Highly recommended!"

I was traveling with senior family members. The location is convenient, with a metro station nearby, although not the interchange station—Diagonal is about a 7-minute walk from the hotel. Overall, our experience was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our check-in process and welcomed us with complimentary drinks and macarons. A special highlight was the breakfast, which was amazing, with attentive and kind service from the staff. Definitely the right hotel choice in Barcelona city.

I stayed at this hotel for a week during my solo trip to Barcelona. Starting with the positives: The reception staff were genuinely kind and welcoming. They checked in on me every day as I came and went, making sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. The location was excellent — surrounded by restaurants, lively at night, and very well connected. The train station is right across the street, there’s a bus stop nearby, and the metro is just a 4-minute walk away. Now for the negatives: One day, I stepped out for two hours and asked for my room to be cleaned. When I returned, my hair towel was gone — most likely taken with the other white towels by mistake. I reported it to the front desk, and while they said they would look into it, I never received an update or even an apology. I found the lack of follow-up and accountability quite unprofessional, and I didn’t feel comfortable removing the “Do Not Disturb” sign again. The room wasn’t very clean — there were stains in the sink, and the bed had loose threads coming out of one side. Thankfully, I was alone, so I just slept on the other side. The room also lacked proper outlets. There were only USB Type-A ports on one side of the bed and a single USB Type-C on the other. The only actual power outlet was located in the bathroom area, which was very inconvenient. Would I stay here again? No. Would I recommend it to a friend? Also no. Overall, the stay felt overpriced for what I got in return.
