A lovely place to stay

Breakfast was a disaster. Untrained staff who left us sitting for over 45 minutes because they hadn’t submitted our order to the kitchen. No fresh orange juice (they left out a jug of diluted orange, which was worse than nothing!) and generally poor service (ie, the waiter dropped off a pot of tea but no milk, or one round of toast for a table of six but no butter). I appreciate it was weekend staff but the experience left us wondering what we were paying a five star price for. I mentioned it on checkout but expect it fell on deaf ears.

Beautiful location by Erne lake. Perfect for a couples retreat, surrounded by nature. The spa is nice, although the pool is on the small side, which might suit couples more than children.

We stayed on a Saturday night, I did email reception in advance for my mums birthday and they left a box of chocolates which was a lovely touch. We had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast, eggs looked like they’d been sitting for a while. Breakfast staff lovely and very attentive. Bar staff are very busy - was waiting 20 minutes to get my order in. The only thing I wasn’t happy about was that I had asked for a room with a view since we were there for a birthday, the girl on front desk was quite rude and showed the booking to us and said we raise it with agoda as there’s nothing she could do. With respect we are there for 1 night to relax so this is the last thing we would want to do on our one night there, standard at reception wasn’t five star.
