Hotel Palisade

I chose the hotel based on good reviews and location however the rooms are not cleaned properly. The second night I was in bed a cockroach dropped on my head and I jumped out of bed, couldn’t find it and it was half dead at the side of my bed. The curtain was ripped, the bed head stained and the other curtains were full of dust and had not been cleaned. The 4th night I came into the room and another cockroach was on my bag at the side of my bed. I tried to take my bag into the hallway but it fell off. I looked for it and found it in the cistern in the bathroom. I went to get my shoe but when I returned it was not there then I found it on the top of the wall. I have never made a fuss before but I wouldn’t sleep in my own house with a cockroach running around. I went downstairs to the bar and spoke to staff who called the building manager. He said he would get some spray and I could move rooms. I advised that I was leaving in the morning anyway and didn’t want to make a fuss. He told me to go back to the room and he would find some spray. I went back and found the cockroach running around the top of the toilet bowl. I shut the lid and flushed it down. The building manager came with the spray and said he would speak to the hotel manager about a refund after I showed him how dirty the room was. After leaving the next morning I sent an email with full details of the events. I just received an answer today with excuses about the area having a lot of cockroaches and that he would speak to cleaning staff. He also said as I had paid Agoda I would have to take it up with them. Therefore I am submitting this review as it is simply the dirtiest hotel that I have ever stayed it. Please see photos

Booked the room 8 months in advance, The night we arrived room wasn't cleaned from the previous guests.We had to change sheets and towels ourselves so we could stay. Housekeeping emptied the bins and cleaned the cups etc next day. If it wasn't for the service ethic of Lucy, we would have left and gone elsewhere. Not an ideal start to the stay

We needed a place to stay that was close to the cruise terminal. Arrived late on Tuesday night and checked out Thursday morning early. Ate in the main bar when we arrived. No complaints on the food or service. Would stay here again, on our next cruise.

The room was in a lovely old pub & location was good . The bar staff were lovely . Unfortunately the room we stayed in was not good especially for what we paid !!! The headboard was filthy , you could see where people had rested their heads . Very dirty !!! I had to put towels on the headboard as I couldn’t look at it . There was a very musty damp smell in the room too . Having said this the sheets were clean and the bed comfortable . Even though the location was good , the staff were friendly we would not stay there again .
