    Important: the facade now says "Check Inn Express" (sic). That is the new name of the hotel. We booked as Hotel 73, via Agoda, and everything was fine with the payment and reservation. This block is one of our favorite memories now of Taipei: the variety of foods sold by the Dongmen Market vendors is a first class survey of Taiwan vegetables and pork. A bit grimy and smelly but, again: there's more than a little butchery on display. Simple stalls have local breakfast foods very early (6am?) And very convenient transit: the Dongmen MRT connects to every part of Taipei from here. We loved the hotel room: tiny but ultra clean and bright, natural light, and a nice bathroom. Quiet. The lobby was just a vestibule but the clerk was always available and very accommodating.
