This place is newly renovated, neat, clean, and well-maintained, but unfortunately the front office staff is completely untrained and unprofessional. We booked two prepaid rooms through the Agoda app. However, the front desk lady charged only one room on the Agoda virtual card instead of both rooms, and then tried to charge my personal credit card again just to “clear the hotel account” from her side.
I showed her the Agoda invoice and booking confirmation clearly stating that both rooms were prepaid, but she kept insisting that I must pay again. She even treated the Agoda documents as if they were useless papers. I had to call Agoda customer service, let them speak with the hotel supervisor, and Agoda issued another virtual card on the spot. Agoda also confirmed payment from their side over the phone.
But when I went back to reception to confirm, the same lady said “NO, they didn’t give me the expiry date of the card.” This shows she had no idea what she was doing. Because of her lack of training and unprofessional behavior, we wasted over 3 hours at the reception. We missed the important meeting we had traveled all the way to Ottawa for, and the whole purpose of the trip was ruined.
A nicely renovated property means nothing if the front office staff does not know their job. Very disappointing experience.
