    There was no receptionist. You have to always call a number if you need anything. It will take 15 mins to answer then when they send staff it took 30 mins. When we had to check out. I was on the phone trying to call the on call receptionist. It has been 30 mins and no one answered at all even call me back. I had to look around in the first floor of the hotel to see if there was a staff. I saw a cleaner in one of the rooms. And that’s the only time my family was able to check out. What a terrible service. The hotel was dirty. Especially the stairs need vaccuuming. The room was okay but because it was windy those days. Constant banging of the door that I had to put a chair to stop the sound. You can hear outside noise because one of the windows can’t fully close because one lock was broken. At least the bed was clean I hope so it was and comfy.

    We had a lovely 2-night stay at Halswell Lodge in Christchurch. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a short stay. The location was convenient, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

    Location was superb but place was dirty, reception was always missing and place needs a good clean. Price was not too bad though.
