    I needed to stay in Kingsclere for two consecutive weekends. The George and Horn was ideal for my needs. I basically just needed a bed, which, can I add, was very comfortable. Lots of hot water for a shower plus toiletries. Also Tea and coffee in the room. Whilst I didn't need it, there is no breakfast on offer for those who might want one and the room is over the pub which is noisy until 23.30ish, so don't expect an early night? I was back late each evening so for me it wasn't an issue.

    Staff were very nice and helpful. Outside bedroom was ok but better cleaning needed. There was a crisp packet behind the bedside cabinet. Bed sheet was on mattress without a topper so I had an uncomfortable nights sleep as I could feel every spring! Car park is very small but Sky organised for someone to move so I could park. It’s inexpensive so I am not really complaining. It could be lovely with investment.

    This stay was advertised with breakfast - however on arrival I was informed that there is no breakfast option here now and hasn't been for about a year. I was called as I was on my way there to say that the double room that I booked was not available (as the system had gone down and it had been double booked) so I was given a twin The room was not very clean, the glasses left for drinking from had a thick layer of dust on top and the biscuits provided were stale. On a plus point, the staff were very friendly, there are 2 gorgeous pub dogs and the Street food restaurant that is annexed to the pub served delicious food at very reasonable prices The room
