    Hotel Faros is situated perfectly to explore the historic city of Istanbul. With tram stops either side of the hotel and a short walk to grand bizarre, blue mosque, water Cistern and parks there’s always plenty to do. Surrounded by decent café bars and restaurants not to mention so many places to shop and spend your money. The hotel is small, which is a place for me. Reception staff are excellent and deal with any queries you may have. The hotel is cleaned daily to a very high standard. Rooms are cleaned late morning so perfect if you wanna come back after a walk and have an afternoon sleep. I found the mattress quite firm, but that’s a personal preference. Rooms come with all the usual facilities A/C, fridge, safe, ensuite bathroom, Kettle with tea and coffee. The air-conditioning can be turned to heat so best of both worlds. There are café bars on one side of the hotel and you can hear a bit of noise in the evening, but you are in the middle of a busy bustling city so it’s to be expected. The bathroom we had, room 306 is on the small side but offers everything you need. Good water pressure and always hot water. The only letdown was the breakfast. There wasn’t much option but space is limited. You can have things made by the kitchen for additional fee. If you arrive by Taxi, it will have to park the short distance away but you’re only talking 20/30 second walk to the hotel entrance. If you choose the hotel Taxi service someone from the hotel will meet you and carry your bags. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. Location is perfect and you don’t feel crowded or just a Number. You are a valued guest.

    We originally booked a Standard Room for 2 nights. However, upon check-in we were charged an additional €80 because we brought our child, even though the hotel’s policy in Agoda clearly states that children can stay using the existing beds at no extra cost. This was quite disappointing, as it did not match the information provided during the booking process.
