Double Tree is a converted school which made it an exceptionally interesting stay as there is a lot of school memorabilia around. The architecture is also captivating. The hotel has carefully retained a lot of the old stone floors, buttresses, arches and so on, and the high ceilings presumably make for a cool environment during the summer. Generally, we were extremely pleased with our stay. A few more hooks in the bathroom would be useful. Daily replenishment of the tea/coffee and emptying of the waste baskets would be good. The staff were attentive and pleasant. Be aware that five euros per day per person will be added to your bill as "city tax," but apparently this applies to all hotels throughout the Netherlands and irrespective of your nationality. Being a few hundred yards from the railway station is a definite plus. Hotel highly recommended.
