    The location cannot be better for visiting Tre Cime di Lavaredo. It is a 5-minute quick walk (slightly uphill then downhill) to the starting stop of the shuttle bus that takes you up to Rifugio Auronzo, which is the starting point of all the hikes. This circumvents the need to make reservations for the expensive access to Tre Cime by private vehicle. There is plenty of parking in front of the hotel, as well as overflow parking on the side and directly across the road. However, the standout part of my stay was the frontline staff, which turned out to be all men. After checking in, I was given an upgrade (by presumably the proprietor whose name I never got) from a room at the back of the hotel (facing the forest) to one at the front, with views of Tre Cime. I was also given a free shuttle bus ticket for Tre Cime, which was valued at EUR10. Moreover, I was sent useful information for hiking Tre Cime by text for download, since mobile reception would be patchy at the top. Everything was well thought-out and planned. I had breakfast (included) and dinners (with 10% discount for hotel guests) at the restaurant and all the staff were incredibly friendly and warm. On the first evening after dinner, I was even offered a mug of tea to take to my room. The food was also very good and there were still items on the menu I did not get a chance to try. If you are visiting the area for hikes around Tre Cime and other nearby places, you cannot find a better place to stay. Skip Cortina d'Amprezzo (which I did not enjoy) and stay here instead!
