    I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The ambiance is incredibly relaxing and serene. Yes, it’s an older property, but just like its name suggests, it feels like a diamond—aged yet still full of elegance. I can imagine how, perhaps 30 years ago, it stood at its peak as a prestigious hotel in the heart of Chiang Mai. I stayed during the Yi Peng Festival in room 1015, which offered a beautiful view of the Mae Ping River. At night, I could see candle-lit floating flowers drifting along the water, and across the river a lively night market with fireworks bursting side by side. It was truly unforgettable! The hotel staff may be older as well, but they put their hearts into providing warm and thoughtful service. Every request was met with a smile, and I especially loved how they offered unlimited complimentary bottled water. I also appreciate the management’s efforts to modernize the property—like improving the air-conditioning and hot shower—while still preserving its nostalgic charm. Even the old-style 90s TV brought back childhood memories. It worked perfectly, and I enjoyed watching Thai news every morning while sipping coffee by the window overlooking the Ping River. I was a little sad the pool wasn’t working, but it’s alright. I’m hoping I’ll get to enjoy it next time. I truly appreciate this hotel and the dedication of the management to keep it alive. I will definitely return to The Diamond Riverside Hotel.

    The hotel is a bit old. The location is good. The rooms have a smell but I don't know whether that's from smoking or from others. The utensils are really old. It needs a big maintenance.
