I had an extremely stressful and disappointing experience staying at this accommodation in Dongdaemun.
During our stay, my wallet containing my BPI bank card, Philippine cash, and National ID went missing from inside our room. My earbuds and charger also went missing.
My biggest concern is the lack of security at this property. Upon arrival, there were no staff members to assist us. There was also no usable CCTV footage in the hallway, leaving no way to establish what happened through the available hallway surveillance. The property did not feel secure, and it seemed like anyone could potentially enter without proper monitoring. The surrounding neighborhood also made us feel uncomfortable.
We reported the incident to the police, but unfortunately, they couldn’t do much because there was no hallway CCTV footage to help investigate what happened. This was particularly upsetting because some of the missing items were important personal documents and financial belongings.
The owner’s response was also disappointing. I did not feel adequately supported or that our concerns were taken seriously after reporting the incident. Dealing with this situation while traveling abroad caused unnecessary stress, anxiety, and inconvenience.
Afterward, I looked more carefully at the reviews and came across previous comments mentioning security concerns, including reports of people entering rooms. I deeply regret not checking the reviews more carefully before booking.
Guests should be able to feel safe and secure inside their accommodation. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I hope management takes these concerns seriously by improving security, ensuring proper surveillance and access control, and providing better assistance when incidents occur.
I strongly encourage future guests to read the reviews carefully and consider the security arrangements before making a reservation.
