CONNECTED HOTEL GURO

Connected Hotel Guro is easily accessible by multiple means of transportation. Guro Station is just about a 2-minute walk away, and there are numerous bus stops in the surrounding area that can take you directly to frequently visited places. The hotel is also very close to the airport limousine bus stop, which makes getting to and from Incheon Airport quite convenient. The location itself is great. The area isn't overly busy, but there are several convenience stores just outside the hotel. There's also an outlet mall right beside it where you can find some cheap deals. A police station is located on the other side of the hotel as well, which gave us an added sense of safety. It isn't located in one of Seoul's most touristy areas, but I actually didn't find this to be much of a problem. The conveniences are there, and the more touristy areas are just a train ride away. The hotel staff were all very kind. They were always smiling and would greet us whenever we entered or left the hotel. It seems like there are only one or two full-time staff members handling the hotel, with the cleaning crew arriving every morning, but the staff were still very accommodating and would cater to our needs. One thing I think could be improved is the explanation of the hotel's amenities during check-in. I noticed several reviews mentioning the "private spa," so I asked about it and was simply told that it wasn't available. I would have appreciated a clearer explanation of what amenities were available and when they could be used. For the room amenities, towels, shampoo, soap, conditioner, and two bottles of water are provided every day. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and similar items aren't included, but they can be purchased from the vending machine in the lobby at a much cheaper price than at a convenience store. The second floor has a common area with a ramen cooking machine, coffee machine, microwave, rice, ice machine, and hot and cold drinking water. However, I found the availability of some of these offerings inconsistent. There were days when the coffee machine wasn't available even in the morning. During most of our stay, we didn't see ramen or eggs available, but on our last day, ramen, eggs, toast, and cereal were all available. We also came down at different times, but couldn't really figure out a pattern for when these items were provided. A clearer schedule would probably help guests know what to expect. Our room itself was quite spacious, especially compared with some of the budget hotels in areas like Dongdaemun or Myeongdong. There was enough room to spread out our luggage, which was a big advantage for us. The bathroom, however, is separated from the bedroom mainly by glass and a curtain. If you're staying with friends rather than a partner, this could feel a little awkward. The mattress in our room was also a bit flimsy. The sides didn't have much rigidity, and the twin bed felt relatively small. That said, once I found the comfortable spot on the mattress, I was able to sleep quite well. Overall, I think Connected Hotel Guro is worth the price. It's clean, the staff are great, and the transportation options are excellent. The location isn't right in the middle of Seoul's tourist areas, but the convenience of Guro Station, nearby buses, the airport limousine, convenience stores, and the outlet mall more than makes up for that. If you're looking for a reasonably priced hotel with good transportation access rather than needing to be right beside the major tourist attractions, I'd definitely consider staying here again.

I have switched hotels in between my trip and came back to stay at Connected Hotel again. The room assigned this round comes with chain lock and it was not a connecting room. Staff is really friendly and could speak english. They have kindly assisted to call for a taxi for me to get to Incheon Airport. As I bought many things and had to pack them before leaving, I did not request for housekeeping. Really appreciate that clean towels and bottled water were placed outside my hotel room when I was back. Will consider staying here again.

I have booked this location as the musical I am watching is just one subway station away. Hotel is conveniently located near to the subway station, department store and has convenience store and cafe chains nearby. There is also an emart about 15minutes walk away. Room is quite spacious and comes with a smart TV where you could watch YouTube on it. Towels and bedsheets are generally clean but it seems like the area under the bed is not cleaned regularly as there were a lot of dust. Also, the chain lock for my room was missing and seems it is connected to another room beside. As a female solo traveler, it was quite a safety concern for me. You can also hear noises from the corridor when people walk past. Overall, it was still a pleasant stay for me as it was really value for money. I also found really a really nice nail shop and hair salon nearby.

We stayed at the hotel in early April. Overall, the hotel itself is decent, but our experience was significantly affected by the behavior of one of the reception staff — an older man (unfortunately, we do not remember his name, possibly Lee or Kim). From the very beginning, he was rude and showed clear irritation. On the day of arrival (around 10:00 AM), after a long trip, we politely asked about breakfast, but received a sharp and unfriendly response. Later, we had an issue in the kitchen area: we were not allowed to use the dishes, even though we clearly stated that we would clean and wash everything after ourselves. The refusal was given in a harsh and unfriendly manner. We also placed some food on the kitchen refrigerator, after which the staff installed a lock on it in front of us. This was quite surprising and uncomfortable. In the evening, the kitchen was completely locked without any explanation. Considering that we came from another country for a sports competition, it was important for us to eat properly and recover, but these actions created unnecessary stress and discomfort. We have traveled to many countries and have never experienced such treatment before. Seoul itself left a positive impression, however, this particular staff member gave us a very different feeling about local hospitality. We recommend the hotel management to pay attention to service quality and provide proper staff training, as reception staff represent the face of the hotel.
