    Camotes Backpackers Hostel is an absolute gem for budget travelers looking to experience the best of the island without breaking the bank. The standout feature is easily the incredible staff, whose warm hospitality and helpful local advice immediately make you feel right at home. It’s set in a fantastic, convenient location that makes exploring nearby beaches and local spots effortless, but the real highlight is the weekend atmosphere—the live band playing on Saturday nights creates an unbeatable, lively vibe where you can unwind and mingle with fellow travelers. Clean, affordable, and full of great energy, it’s the ideal home base for an unforgettable island getaway.

    Let me be clear, this review has no relationship to the kindness of the attending staff. The staff is superb, I was mostly disappointed with the maintenance of my room and some areas of the hotel. A little bit of pain and Aircon cleaning may go a long way. The window unit was really dirty and with lots of mold. Loud and clunky. There were ants in the room and invaded some of our food that we had to dispose of. There is water damage in the room that makes it small moisty. Nothing impossible to remediate and I recognize the price is of “value” but cleanliness and basic maintenance are non negotiable
