    With its convenient location near Victoria train station and walking distance from Buckingham palace, Ebury House (old Belgravia Hotel) is tucked in a quiet and posh area of Belgrave. I got a very small room with common bathroom, but it’s better than having no privacy in a hostel. Also I was able to get it for a price comparable to hostels in London city center, so I got good value for money from this booking.

    Positive aspects: The only redeeming qualities of this hotel are: - the reasonable price (*** per night) and - convenient location close to the city center. Critical issues: Room condition: The room is super small and makes a depressing impression with dark gray walls that create the feeling of sleeping in a storage closet. The windows appear to be 100 years old, unpainted, and the room clearly hasn't seen renovation (it'd be even worse if this is such renovation). Water system problems: The shower is extremely inconvenient - cold water runs for about 10 minutes first, then becomes warm for maybe a minute before turning scalding hot with no way to regulate the temperature. We had to shower in barely lukewarm water. (and, yeah, of course no shower gel, so don't forget to take it with you) Tiny bathroom: The bathroom and toilet together occupy about 2 square meters with a deteriorated, poorly fitting door that provides no privacy whatsoever. Cleanliness: The room was quite dirty (but not in the middle - these two square quadrat meters were more or less good), which is unpleasant in itself. Door access problems: The room door locking system worked poorly - twice we couldn't get into our own room and had to ask staff for help each time. 🚨 BED BUGS: The most serious issue - there are bed bugs in the room! My wife was bitten so severely that we had to see a doctor immediately upon our return. Conclusion: Unfortunately, this is typical for overhyped tourist cities - high demand allows owners to completely neglect quality. I strongly recommend paying more, if you can, and finding better accommodation. Our friends found a way better place for the same price. I didn't even bother taking photos of our room. Such an experience was a first for us, and hopefully the last.
