The room was a bit small but well equipped. Design was to my liking, modern contemporary. Location was perfect, close to all the best restaurants and landmarks in Porto. Everything was walking distance.

The Arts Hotel Porto is wonderfully located in a prime spot with everything you need within walking distance. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The hotel's art-themed design is really beautiful, with inspiring pieces and creative touches throughout that make it feel special and unique. We stayed in a handicapped accessible room, which was impressively spacious and well-designed for accessibility. My only complaint is the bathroom sink – it's surprisingly tiny with absolutely zero counter space for toiletries. This was a bit frustrating when trying to organize our things, especially in an otherwise spacious room. Despite this minor inconvenience, the Arts Hotel Porto is a great choice for anyone wanting a centrally located, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing place to stay in Porto. The location and friendly service more than make up for the sink situation!

Pros: Location is perfect, it is near to everything. The room is generally well-cleaned. Some staff are very good (special mention to Jorbert at the Dining side who was an excellent staff, and the only reason this Staff review is three stars instead of one). Cons: No sitting area at lobby. The reception staff are largely ornamental. At check-in we were not told how to access WiFi or how to use the in-room phone, there were NO manuals or guides in the room to say that we need to pass 9 for Operator. We had to return to the Reception to ask about all this. There is a staircase of around 7-10 steps between you and most of the rooms, and staff will not help a finger with getting luggage up or down it. The only time I saw them offer help to do this was for a guest already angry about something else. No kettle in room - we were treated like beggars at the reception when we asked for hot water, and told to go ask the kitchen for it. Other reviews have already mentioned the lights switches which have a steep learning curve; and the toilet which has a see-through lattice that offers little privacy. Though room cleaning was generally good, I returned to the room one evening to find a dirty cleaning cloth left on top of my personal belongings (a backpack and tote bag), which I have shown in the picture. The breakfast items are rarely refilled, we lost count of the times we heard other guests asking if the bread section would be refilled. If you are intending to stay here, you might want to take note of the above (and bring a portable kettle if you need hot water).
