Unfortunately, my stay at Ardey Hotel Istanbul was a very disappointing experience, mainly due to the condition of the room and the way the situation was handled by the hotel management. When we checked into our room, we noticed that a small part of the inside of the door was broken and had been covered with a sticker. We assumed the hotel was already aware of the damage and as we were tired after travelling, we did not think much of it at the time. We also discovered that the toilet bidet was not working and the toilet seat was broken. So the next morning, we called the Duty Manager to have these issues checked and one of the Duty Managers came and fixed the bidet. However, as he was leaving, he noticed the damaged part of the door and immediately blamed us for it. I was extremely upset by this approach. How can a hotel accuse its guests of causing damage without any evidence! Being treated as though we were responsible without being given a fair chance to explain was both upsetting and unprofessional. Furthermore, the room was quite small, which added to our disappointment. The hotel has 3 Duty Manages, 2 of them are nice but one of them was particularly very cold and unwelcoming in his manner. His lack of warmth and unfriendly attitude made an already unpleasant situation even worse. Hospitality is not just about providing a room; it is also about making guests feel welcome, respected and comfortable. Overall, this was a terrible experience and the way the damage issue was handled left a very negative impression of the hotel. What should have been a comfortable stay turned into an unnecessarily stressful one. My advice to future guests: Please inspect every part of your room thoroughly upon arrival, including the door, bathroom fixtures, furniture, and other fittings. Ideally, ask a hotel representative to check the room with you and document any existing damage immediately to avoid being held responsible for something you did not cause. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves both its room-maintenance standards and the way its staff communicate with guests. No guest should have to experience this kind of treatment during their stay.

The Arday Hotel is in a great location. It’s good for the price although the breakfast was ordinary. I’d suggest against a staying in basement room. The walls are thin, the kitchen staff noisy and we dealt with an infestation of tiny moths.

Staff very helpful. Basement room very noisy, the window isn’t completely close, you should better stay another floor.

Our room was road facing - lots of noise at night, difficult to sleep. Aircon (in the room) wasn’t working - when enquired with staff, we were told that other hotel guests were asking for heating and hence the central HVAC was in warm mode! It was 20+ degrees in Sultanahmet! Shower (#302) broken, only 2 bath towels given - no hand towels. Upon arrival, the toilet roll in the bathroom barely had 4 sheets!!! Hotel was offering 20% off food (dinner) for hotel guests so decided to order dinner. We are both vegetarians and requested their vegetarian pizza - SOLD OUT. We then requested vegetarian pitta - SOLD OUT! We were left with no choice but to order vegetarian casserole which was below par!
