Aparthotel Atenea Barcelona

I stayed at this hotel for several nights and, overall, the hotel itself was comfortable. Unfortunately, one incident at breakfast left a very bad impression. I had booked breakfast for my first two days and my final day. On the third morning, I had an early meeting and simply grabbed something light outside the hotel. When I returned to the breakfast room on the last day, one of the staff members — Espanya, I believe — repeatedly questioned whether I had eaten breakfast on a day I hadn't paid for. He kept pressing the point in a very presumptive tone, saying things like "even if you were here yesterday but didn't pay for it, it's okay," which is not reassuring at all. It's an accusation dressed up as forgiveness. I asked him to check the records for any evidence that I had entered the restaurant that morning, because there would be none. Being made to prove my own innocence over a breakfast, in front of other guests, was humiliating and completely unnecessary. If the hotel genuinely suspected a discrepancy, the professional approach would have been to quietly verify the records first and only raise it with the guest if there was an actual issue — not to interrogate a paying customer on assumption alone. I hope management will address this with their team. A single interaction like this can undo an otherwise pleasant stay, and most guests won't complain — they'll simply book elsewhere next time.

Not a 4 stars. Perhaps 2 stars. Pretty in bad condition, kind of clean but shower with hair from other people ( so badly clean) and expensive for what was provided. Disappointed as if i knew it was like that would prefer other option. Photos i took say it all although upload is failing. Very bad

Upon arrival at the hotel, we were charged €110 in tourist tax for two rooms over a two-night stay—an exorbitant amount for a budget hotel. I contacted Agoda, but they explained that the hotel sets the rate itself. In short, it is a decent hotel, but the €110 tax we were charged was excessive; in other cities and hotels, this tax usually ranges from €5 to €7.
