Amphora Hotel

I almost never give bad reviews because I think that it was just my experience, but not this time - every time I walked by reception someone was complaining at the front desk about something or the other. The indifference staff showed to guests qualms was shocking. I called room service for a vegetarian meal on their menu and was told that they don’t have it. The only option they could give me was fish. When I replied that fish wasn’t vegetarian and had alcohol which I don’t consume, the response I got was “well there is nothing I can do”. There was no coffee creamer in the room and when I asked for some, I was told that they don’t have any (which hotel doesn’t have coffee creamer) but they could give me a glass of milk which they would change for - €11 for a glass of milk! The WiFi was horrendous- you get no wifi in the breakfast restaurant and not even in the lobby. When we requested a late checkout we got a flat “no” followed by a concession of 30min which was begrudgingly given after further request. Bathroom amenities were never replenished and breakfast was rather average. This hotel is way too overpriced. And the value and service don’t match the price tag.

We can enjoyed our stay at Amphora Hotel. Helpful staff, great breakfast, and beautiful rooftop bar. Plus, key attractions are convenient to reach from Amphora.

Great location at the beachfront. Breakfast selection was decent but menu remained the same throughout the stay.

This could be an amazing hotel… but isn’t Lifts are terrible. The large pool is heated to 32C making it uncomfortable & leaving the small pool for 200 guests. Pool was green & cloudy. Probably from so many people using one small pool Staff are generally disinterested and on their phones. Reception staff watched us unload bags and offered zero assistance. The food is ok in itself, but very limited room service options and menus not provided. You basically have to photograph the menu from the foyer. Hotel is only 6 years old but poorly maintained. Lights out everywhere. Pool not cleaned properly. Rooms are great but not cleaned properly. Tea & coffee facilities provided but no cutlery, limited glasses. Towels provided would be the world’s smallest towels. Not sure if it’s poor management, poorly trained staff or both. Overall, very underwhelming for how much it cost. Won’t be back.
