We stay in the area every year, and this was by far our favorite place! The hosts were great, but Murray (the dog) was a definite bonus. Our son enjoyed playing ball with him several times a day and most sad about leaving him to go home. The property was conveniently located near Bar Harbor and all the trails we love. It was clean, quiet, spacious, and comfortable. We look forward to future visits.

The hosts were so wonderful, friendly, and communicative and we loved their dog, Murray. The place was charming and had some quirks because it is a historic building but we totally loved that and expected that. The kids especially loved the loft off the kitchen! The bunk beds also had a safety rail we could easily install and that was helpful. The kitchen was fully stocked and had everything we needed for our time there. The only thing we didn't expect was the busy road between the property and the water. The photos and description did not fully make this clear when booking because it was hard to tell in the photos where the space was in relation to the water prior to seeing it. If we missed something that is on us but we were surprised by that. With two young children it was dangerous for them to cross that busy road without us and at times the traffic was a bit noisy. That was our only disappointment. It is a beautiful home and a great space to use as a home base and launch point to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park!
