top stay in la roche

central location and yet quite. super spacious apartment. really nice to see that the kitchen (and everything else) was super well equipped. another plus, the free parking close by. owner was also super friendly.

took a while to figure out all the light switches hahaha

A comfortable and very cosy appartment, with all you need and a helpful, friendly owner

Our stay started with a nice welcome; a name card at the door and two bottles of beer and directions by the owner. The owner Jean Marc is very helpful, recommending bakeries and restaurants. The apartment is located very centrally in La Roche. We really like the interior, it's done with a lot of attention, and all the (kitchen)equipment you need is there. The view of the church on one side and the hills on the other is great. The sunny terrace is a really nice place to stay after a day of outdoor activities.

The duvets and accompanying blankets for 2 of our family were missing. This can happen, no problem. The owner brought them, and the duvet smelled of cigarette smoke, which is not nice to sleep under. The towels smelled a bit of cigarette smoke as well. The central heating seemed to have a bit of trouble getting started one chilly evening, but we did not really need it. For us, the bed was a bit too soft, but this is really personal. As the apartment faces a shopping street, some may find it too noisy.

Perfect apartment to explore this area of the Ardennes

Fantastic, comfortable apartment right in the heart of LaRoche. Private parking a short walk from the apartment - this was definitely a bonus in this busy tourist town. The sun comes on the balcony in the evening so the apartment stays nice and cool during the summer. Would definitely recommend staying here to explore this area of the Ardennes.

Excellent Location, For Some Guests - Character Old Apartment

The location was exceptional, but perhaps not suitable for everyone as it is in the center of the tourist pedestrian street. For me it was a nice bonus to look at the lovely architecture of this very old town. The apartment is on the second and third floor with the living area on the second floor and bedrooms, bathroom and laundry rooms on the third floor. This may be a problem for some people if you have problems walking as there are steep narrow stairs up to the apartment and inside the apartment. For me, it was no problem and I loved the character. The floors are from wood so they are creaking but it is brick construction between the buildings on both sides. The interior design is neat but it's all from Ikea, but still it's nice. There is a nice large TV in the living room and bedroom, which was really nice. The deck faces the other side onto the towns public parking lot, but the deck was large and good for me. Grocery store is just a 3 minute walk. Restaurants are right next to the apartment. Bed comfort was good and drapes kept the apartment dark in the morning. Wifi was great inside, outside on the deck it was okay and cellular signal was poor. Parking is provided free, but you have to walk about 400 meters away - it's a VERY easy walk. Just park your car in front of the apartment to load and offload and then drive to the parking. The public parking next to the apartment is available for 24 hours for only 10 EUR (as of Summer 2022) but the free parking is good and not too far.

The apartment could have been cleaner, condition of the construction was a little bit poor and everything was from Ikea. Nothing terrible, but it's noticeable. Balcony was a bit messy and did not feel cleaned with leaves everywhere and lots of spider webs. Noise from the pedestrian street may be a problem for anybody that goes to sleep before midnight. There is a small convenience store across the street and they are open until 1:00 AM so sometimes there are people talking and smoking. Also there is an ice cream store on the first / main floor which makes some noise which you can hear during the day. I had some problem a couple times with the shower water pressure. Once the hot water stopped completely and sometimes the pipes made lots of noise. If you are elderly or have problems walking or go to sleep early, then do not rent this apartment. For me none of the above was a big problem, but you need to know this before renting.

We stayed for a few days and everything was above expectations. The rooms were very clean, the location was perfect and the outer view was terrific. Also, free beer from the owner was a very pleasant bonus. :-)

Ideal location in the heart of La Roche, close to the supermarket and shops, view on the castle. Very spacious appartement with a well-equipped kitchen. Nice terrace with sun in the late afternoon and evening.

Fantastic weekend stay

The property is fantastic, I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it. Really modern, spacious and immaculate. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the village with plenty of restaurants within a few minutes walk. Lovely view from the house of the church and the castle (church bells didn't seem to start early so it didn't disturb our sleep!) The kitchen was very well equipped if you want to cook meals. The bed was large & comfortable and the lounge area was lovely for relaxing too. There are several big radiators so you can control the temperature yourself. We didn't meet the host but communication was quick and easy. We really loved our weekend stay here!

This isn't a "negative" as such, but we didn't end up using the free parking (few mins walk away) because we only stayed two nights so preferred to use the parking right by the entrance to the property. It was very reasonably priced at 1 euro/hour & only charges during 08.00 - 19.00.

Fantastisch huis op een top locatie. Fijn en sfeervol. Leuk ook een flesje bubbels bij ontvangst.

De prijs was net iets te hoog vonden wij. Er was ook geen koffie/ thee aanwezig.
